    Error Message

I am getting this error with HSTV and also with the weather xml pages:
Script error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

I am assuming I have to set something up in the ODBC Manager but I looked in there and there is a data name for Homeseer in there. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

        Thom,
What I ended up doing is setting up two Data Sources.
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources(ODBC)
Then under User DSN Set one up like this:
        Name: HSTV
        Driver: Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)
        Then click configure C:\Program Files\Homeseer\data\hstv\hstv97.mdb
if it is aready there click on Repair.

Then set up the same one under Sytem DSN. Again if its already there, click on Repair.

Then Reboot the system. This worked for me, hope it works for you.

          No Go

I tried what you said and I still get this error

The event is (HSTVSetDevices) a pre set event when I installed HSTV the runs every 30 min

Script error in file: HSTvSetDevices.txt: -2147217904:[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too few parameters. Expected 1. in line 80

          Any help would be great

            Thom.
I don't know what that error is. I think that set device event came in somewhere in the last couple updates, I don't remember it from the beginning. I don't know if will help, but can you disable that event and still get the tv listings to work?

Sorry I can't be more help.

I'm getting the same error. I have never gotten HSTV to run. I get through the xmltv.exe and it downloads something. I've attempted getting HSTV downloaded and re-installed. -- The one thing that appears wrong is when I go to the HSTVAdmin.asp page all I get is a single drop down box with nothing in it. The text next to the box states select file to delete. (something like that.)

                Any ideas?

Look in the hstv.ini file for a key called daysahead. The value should be a number. If it is not a number put a 7 there and save the file.

                  Should look like this.
                  daysahead=7

The error with HSTvSetDevices.txt is related to the feature that will put tv listings into virtual devices. Look on the Import Editor, there is a column labeled Device Code. If you don't have any codes entered, then deactivate the event that runs with HSTvSetDevices.txt.

                          Similar problem

I am recieveing this error message when I open the events screen, I set up the ODBC like I was suposed to with no problem.

Script error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified if Request.Form("createevents") <> "" Then
                          hs.launch hs.GetAppPath & "\data\hstv\hstv.exe","runevents",""

When I did the DOS setup, I had a problem where I couldn't use the command tv_grab_na (it was not on the list of accepted commands) so I used the command tv_grab_na_dd

                          Any ideas?

This is my second attempt at HSTV also, but this go round I do plan to get it to work as I have a lot more time to dedicate to HSTV.

When you created the ODBC connection did you enter the name of the connection into the HSTV Admin page?

For example, if you created an ODBC connection called hstv, then on the admin page (hstvadmin.asp), you would need to enter hstv into the "ODBC Name" box.

Try using tv_grab_na_dd, xmltv has changed to using the _dd on the end now.
