Unable to Record

Perhaps I just do now know how to set up an IR control page to record programs but I have not been successful in getting anything recorded. My control item setup follows:

Control Item IR Setup

Record Command Minutes To Pad : 0
String to Pause IR output: ,,,
How many characters should channel numbers be? 2 0's will be appended.

Change Device - Select the Channel Change Device from the Infrared Devices or enter an IR Device in the textbox below.
Change Channel Prepend IR Command
Change Channel Device
Change Channel Device : Tolshiba_VCR
Change Channel Append IR Command
Record Device - Select the Record Device from the Infrared Devices or enter an IR Device in the textbox below.
Record Device : Toshiba_VCR
Record Device
Record Device Prepend IR Command
Record Device Record Command : Record
Record Device Append IR Command
Use An Event To Stop Recording : Yes
Record Device Prepend Stop Command
Record Device Stop Command : Stop
Record Device Append Stop Command
Enable IR Time (h:mm am/pm) : 1:00 AM
Disable IR Time (h:mm am/pm) : 1:00 AM

All of the required IR commands for, say, record on channel 24 work if sent with hs.sendir command in a script-shown below

Toshiba_VCR, 2,,,Toshiba_VCR, 4,,,Toshiba_VCR, Record,,,Toshiba_VCR,Stop

I do not know what I am doing wrong in setting up the control with HSTV. Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

Were you successful in setting up change channels from the tv listing station icon button? I have not been and am also using the usbuirt.

I was looking through the code.
If you set the logging to the highest level and then have a show that should send some IR, it should put an entry into the HS log.
Look for something like this:

Sending IR string: _________

If someone can post the string so I can see what is wrong with it, I can adjust the code to output the correct string.

On the User Options page there is a dropdown for you to select a channel Tune device. This allows each user to select their own.
So one user can select the Living Room Satellite, another user can select Bedroom TV and the grid page will know which device to use.
Can you guys make sure you have selected a device, please.

I don't have this option on my user page. Perhaps I do not have the latest version. Where can I get the latest if this is the case? I just checked the update page but HSTV does not appear.

A screen shot of my ir control setup page is attached. I have tried omitting the power_on command to record by simply leaving the vcr on prior to the record time. Still no luck.

1AM to 1AM. If that is how you actually have it set then it would never send the IR because it won't ever be greater than 1AM and less than 1AM.

For those of you that don't have the Channel Tune Device option, take a look at your control items. Do you have any that are setup as a Watch type?
If not, then the option won't show, so on the grid page you won't be able to click the channel icon to change the channel. It wouldn't know where to change the channel.

What should this be set at to run it 24/7? I put in a small window of time and was able to fire the IR but something like:

Enable: 12:59 AM
Disable: 12:58 AM

Does not work.

I changed the time as shown below. Still, I cannot record. I do not get any ir transmission at all.

Try something like 1 minute past your computer time for enable and 3-4 hours later for disable time. Update and then wait for your computer time to reach what you have set and then try sending the ir.

Tried. No help. I really don't think that hstv is generating any ir strings to send. The control screen does not show any ir strings at all. See below. And this has been true no matter what settings I use in the control setup screen.

Maybe you need to add a watch item. I have not moved on to the record functions yet.
