No Listings - Grid Works

When I select "ratings" I get an error message of "object reference not set to an instance of an object"

There is two places you have to set the ratings. First you have to go to the admin area for the username. Select the ratings that the user is allowed to see. Then as that user, you go to the personal ratings and select from the allowed ratings the ones you want to be able to see in the listings grid. This allows the admin to set the ratings for each user and then each user can select the ratings they want to see.

Must be doing something stupid, but the grid works but I can't seem to get access to Listings.

Error message says "The user has not been given any permissions to show any rating."

I thought that I had done that but can't seem to find the right place to check.
