  • Error after upgrading to 3.0.0.9

    Hi Spud,

    i liked your plugin very much, but after upgrading to 3.0.0.9 it doesn't work anymore.

    I get the error:
    **FATAL**: Failed getting InterfaceStatus from iTunesDAAP - the interface was not found in the list of active interfaces.

    How can I recover from this fatal error?

    In the logbook i read this:

    4/7/2014 9:06:12 AM ~!~Error~!~Initializing plug-in(2): iTunesDAAP Instance:e objectverwijzing is niet op een exemplaar van een object ingesteld.0STACK: bij System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.LogicalCallContext.Propaga teIncomingHeadersToCallContext(IMessage msg) bij System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(Mess ageData& msgData, Int32 type) bij HomeSeerAPI.IPlugInAPI.InitIO(String port) bij Scheduler.clsHSPI.CheckInterfaces()

    Hi,

    Did you try to restart HS3 and then restart the plugin?
    What was the previous version you had installed and that was working?

    Make sure the Bonjour service is running, it is now needed to always run for automatic connection to iTunes.

    Also, please set the log level to debug manually by adding or modifying the following lines to your iTunesDAAP.ini:

    Code:
    [GENERAL]
    log_level=Debug
    then please post the full logs you get when you try to start the plugin.
    Thanks

      I did try to restart HS3 and also restarting the plugin. It doesn't help.
      Version I used before the upgrade was 3.0.0.7

      I have itunes running on the same machine as homeseer, so I think this should have bonjour installed automatically. And I've just checked; it's running.

      Debug Log in startup.log:

      4/7/2014 1:38:29 PM ~!~Plug-In~!~Finished initializing plug-in iTunesDAAP

      The plugin crashes while starting HS3. I found old binairies of version 3.0.0.5 and resplaced the HSPI_ITUNES_Daap.exe from version 3.0.0.9 and this version works.

      Can you provide me with the 3.0.0.7 binaries again in meantime unit the 3.0.0.9 version works? Or maybe I can try the 3.0.0.8 binairy to test if this still works to narrow down the failing version.

        Please test version 3.0.0.10 attached.
        If the problem is related to Bonjour like I suspect, this will give more info in the logs and it will let you start the plugin even if some errors show up.

            could you try version 3.0.0.11 and post your logs?

            if it's still doesn't work, I have attached version 3.0.0.7 if you want to roll back.

            thanks

              Hi Spud,

              Version 3.0.0.11 gives exact the same messages in the log. Version 3.0.0.7 works without any problem again.

              Do you want me to test some more? Maybe I need to clear my itunesdaap configuration and setup everything in itunesdaap from scratch? Is this an option to try? Can you tell me how to wipe the complete itunesdaap config?

                there should be at least one difference in the logs in version 3.0.0.11, as I have added a log line to show the version number of the plugin that is being run. Do you see that?

                Also what files do you have in bin/iTunesDAAP ?

                      please delete Mono.Zeroconf.Providers.AvahiDBus.dll and try again. (This dll is for the Linux version only)

                      also, have you ever tried the AirplaySpeak plugin, and does it work?

                        After deleting Mono.Zeroconf.Providers.AvahiDBus.dll it works. I now installed 3.0.0.11. Should I revert to 3.0.0.9?
