Not really, it all looks OK actually. I even see that there was a response at some point, here it is

          <Event xmlns="urn:schemas-upnp-org:metadata-1-0/RCS/"><InstanceID val="0"><Volume channel="Master" val="30"/></InstanceID></Event>

Can you control play/pause etc ? If you go to the player page for this device and you set the volume with the slider, does it stay or jump back?

I would try to play something using this PI, so you need a DLNA server (your windows media player for example). Go to the player page, select the DLNA server, navigate the music, add a track to the queue and play it. Then try the volume.

Are there any other (Ethernet) remote controls for your Marantz player? Apps on Google or iPhone perhaps? If they do, see how they work. Do some Google for Marantz and DLNA/UPNP see if there is anything out there.

          Dirk

was googling a little; see this post (http://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/r...03-and-mm8003/) and quote "so I switched to the Network mode to stream music from my DLNA server"

Did you switch yours to network mode when you try to control it via DLNA?

              Found manuals here (http://www.marantz.co.uk/uk/products...oductid=av8003)

Did you do this network setting?

At this moment I can't test you're suggestion because I can't get my receiver activated and online again.

start with turning off your firewall on the PC that runs this PI
