the HDMI 1, HDMI2, HDMI3, and HDMI4 weren't.. however.. if i press source then use the up and down cursor to go to the right cdmi i want then press enter, it works.

also the power On is not working.. only the power off. I think thats because the tv becomes deactivated once it is of, so the off button will never respond right?

by the way.. i have plex app installed on the Readynas server, but it is not showing.. how can i add plex? it is strange coz LMS Logitec Media server) is also on the server, and it is detected.
Some buttons won't work. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn't support publishing which functions it supports on the device itself, so the button list you see is a summary of all functions I can find on-line.

The power on button indeed won't work on Samsung TVs either, it only works via bluetooth.

Make sure your Plex is configured to be controllable via UPNP/DLNA so dig through all the settings, especially the network settings.

I do see an application on the ReadyNas by the name of DVBLink DLNA TV Server but the PI ignores it, might be that services are missing. Can you display

http://192.168.1.100:49153/nmsDescription.xml and post it (you can also click on the location link in the "view UPNP devices" page

I did rearrange the discovery and presentation of what was discovered a little, should have made it clearer not problematic.

So can you turn the debug flag on, the "log-to-disk-flag" on, restart the PI, wait 2 minutes, turn off the "log-to-disk-flag" (don't skip this step!!) and post the <hs root>\html\MediaController\Logs\MediaControllerDebug.txt file.

Also need you post a screenshot of the device page and a screen shot of the page you get when you click on "view UPNP devices". I need that page and may ask you to click on the hyperlinks for all the Samsung devices and post those pages as well.

            Hi E1Seer,

I need a screenshot of the device page which is at the bottom of the config page.
There is also something wrong with the debug file, it is too short and the crlf are missing, did you edit it with any tool or did you forget to click "log to disk" OFF before you copied it? Can you take that again:

            1. turn debug ON
            2. turn "log to disk" on
            3. deactive PI (or stop HS)
            4. Make sure the TV is ON when you do this
            5. active the PI or start HS
            6. wait 2 minutes
            7. turn "log to disk" OFF
            8. Now upload the MediaControllerDebug.txt file

There are 4 Samsung devices shown in the table you pasted, I only see 2 pasting of info in your posting. The most important one is the 3rd which has urn:samsung.com:device:RemoteControlReceiver:1

Just to confirm, your remote on your samsung was working or just showing as an option before you upgraded? What is the TV number we are talking about here?

Version 23 was posted in the updater, I recommend you do the traces with v23.

            Dirk

E1Seer, I really cannot help you unless you follow my instructions to the letter. Don't send me a person message with whatever it was you cut and paste, I NEED THE .txt file attached to your response.

If you are on version 22, first update to version 23 and now follow the steps:

                1. turn "debug flag" ON, not the Super Debug, not the UPNP Functions Debug Level just the DEBUG FLAG
                2. turn "log to disk flag" on
                3. deactivate the PI or stop HS
                4. Make sure the TV is ON when you do the next steps
                5. activate the PI or start HS
                6. wait 2 minutes
                7. turn "log to disk flag" OFF << don't forget this step!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                8. Now upload the MediaControllerDebug.txt file

OK I think I may have figured it out , download the attached, unzip and copy into the HS root directory when HS3 is disabled. Let me know once you've downloaded the version so I'll remove it again

If you go to the HomeSeer Device page, click on the blue hyperlinked name = remote, goto status graphics, on this page you can delete all the buttons that are of no interest to you or don't work. Don't change the value !!!!!

If there are specific remote commands that are essential and missing, start googling. If you can find a posting somewhere that provides the keywords, you can add your own buttons. It is described in the help file how to add/modify the MediaControll_RemoteControl.ini file.

Good luck and I'll be posting a new version in the updater perhaps this or next week. Was working on Onkyo support over the weekend.

The plug-in worked a week and after that it show my TV as off-line so I restart the PI and the plug-in didn't run so I disabled and enabled again and its working now maybe there is a problem that causes the plug-in not to work after some days

new version 25 to be available in the updater

                          Changes to v3.0.0.25
                          • Fixes some issue for remote control for Onkyo (same limited functions as HS2, read help file)
                          • Changed adding/discovery flow for remotes a little. For a new device, remote control buttons won't populate automatically, you need to click on the "Create Remote Buttons" button in the HS Device Page.
                          • Added some support for different voices in your announcements, see help file
                          • Heavy logging of the PI under Linux causes resource leaks, fixed.

So maybe I've missed something in all this. I installed the plug-in, went to configure and it showed my Plex server. So I added it and it created two new devices.

Plex Media Server: Home (activated Online)
                            Master (connected)
But there is no player. I read through the whole help file and the best I can tell Plex is supposed to work. But for the life of me I can't figure it out.

I would be grateful if someone could help me get a working media player again after moving to HS3. I swore i wouldn't upgrade to HS3, but a need arose.

My end game is to be able to be able to select music from my HSTouch screens and play the music on my plex server. (which is also my HS server) as this machine is connected to my whole house audio.

                            Thank you!

Plex doesn't seem to allow control of its playing capabilities through DLNA/UPNP, it does allow to control content. That's why the PI only creates the server capabilities and not the player. Use another free player that is UPNP compatible (eg Windows Media Player) or others like JRiver ....

Forgot to point out that in HS3, the MediaAPI doesn't work for MultipleInstance type of PIs, so your ultimate goal to control content from HSTouch can't be done at this time and given we are now many years into HS3, I wouldn't hold my breath unfortunately.
