Sonos is doing a lot of development to have it directly controlled through Amazon Echo's, no real need to go through homeseer to get to this PI to get to the player if you can do it directly. The command to group as far as I can tell has not been released yet but is rumored in the works.
For the rooms that don't have say a Sonos One, drop in an echo dot to control them. Amazon is working on a group concept where you can assign specific devices to a single echo so they now become room aware.
The Sonos PI doesn't do any amazon echo stuff, Homeseer as far as I can tell only (directly) advertise switches (and thermostats) to Alexa. I thought at some point it was also possible to trigger HS events through Alexa (Alexa tell homeseer xxxx) , you could use that to group/ungroup (link/unlink) players.

      Dirk,

Your suggestion of running events from Alexa will probably work. I currently run certain events as desired through Alexa.

      Thanks,
      Michael
