  • After upgrading to 3.1.0.35 my announcements stopped working

I cannot get TTS working again, and I'm almost certain it stopped working when I upgraded to the latest SONOS PI. (3.1.0.35). The server is running HS3 Pro 3.0.0.534 (Windows)

I have a linkgroup called "ANNOUNCE":

I try to run this event, and nothing happens.

If I enable debug mode, I can see a lot of these messages, for several minutes if not more:

My Sonos PI configuration looks like this:

I have been using this setup for years, without problems, and I am pretty sure I haven't changed anything. (At least not on purpose!)
Is there a problem with my setup, or is it something else wrong? Feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Which version did you have before you upgraded?
    Is this Windows or Linux?
Are the players showing on-line in the player table?
If you use the sonos app and change a player, do you see the updates in the PI?
Can you control the Kitchen and Living Room player from the PI?
Do you see errors in the log?

        ... and it still doesn't work :-)?

        Is HS running as admin?
can you turn debug flag on and capture ALL logs (not dos screenshot) from start of announcement until it completely times out.
Have you tried to restart HS?
DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING !!!! If you have deleted something please post

I have restarted HS (and the machine for good measure!). I also verified that HS is running as admin.
          Nothing has been deleted.
I restarted the plugin, and captured logs. It seems as if it never times out.
I will try to send you the logs via PM. Is Excel format OK?

I thought there were no errors in the log?

Error In SpeakDev calling a speak proxy plug-in, exception is Objektreferanse er ikke satt til en objektforekomst.
This error seems to suggest there is another PI with Proxy being called or this PI is causing this but the error is reported by HS which makes me believe the error is not in this PI. What other PIs do you have or scripts perhaps? Did you make changes to the .ini file directly? I see a 10 second announcement wait timer, did you edit this?
Can you post a screen shot of the FULL linkgroup table and player table and the event that you used (which is not what it in the screenshot above)
Which of your players are paired (stereo or Home Theater) pairing, which players are grouped?

I think I spotted a mistake in the changes I made. I believe your Kitchen player is paired with a subwoofer. The PI mistakenly thinks the Kitchen players is a slave and causes an error to switch to a non-existing master. Unfortunately the assert is not caught and it seems to make it into the SpeakDev functions where it reports the error.
I'll post a new version on the beta section soon ...
                Sorry for the error

You are right, the Kitchen Zoneplayer is paired with the Sub.
I just tried .36 from the Beta section, and now my announcements are back!
Thanks so much for your quick troubleshooting and fix!
