    No communication in new season

I set up my PS-4 with AquaConnect and it worked great last year. Unfortunately, on opening my pool this year, I have had no luck getting the plug-in to communicate with the pool system. I made no changes to the configuration (wiring, etc.) in the off season.

Below is an excerpt from the log file in debug mode during initialization and when trying to cycle the pool heater.

I would really appreciate any help!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Let's start with the basics. Are you certain your COM port has not changed on the computer you are running? I do not see anything in the logs which indicates that the plugin is receiving any data from the aquaconnect hardware on the COM port. I know that sometimes my computer reassigns COM ports, so it can't hurt to verify.

Let me know how it goes

Sorry for the delay in my response, I didn't notice your post. The COM port is what I suspected too. I started to chase that down, and have not found anything. I will keep at it and let you know.

So I think I have a problem between the AQ-CO-SERIAL and the control panel. From what I read in the manual, the AQ-CO-SERIAL is powered over the connection from the panel, but I don't measure power on the conductors. The panel is successfully communicating with the variable speed pump (wired in parallel with the AQ-CO-SERIAL). I assume that the power should be on the red wire (across to black or green), but I don't measure any voltage. Any thoughts?

The VSP operating normally would seem to indicate that the panel is sending proper commands. Have you verified there are not breaks or shorts in the wires between the panel and the AQ-CO-SERIAL? Did you verify the COM port is properly setup on your computer?

You nailed it. I found that a rodent had chewed a part of the line at some point last season. Very difficult to spot without close inspection. Everything working now.

            Thanks!
