    Login Issue

    Hi Spud,

I just iinstalled the ademco app and I can't seem to get it to login. I'll attach a log below. I tried resetting the password on eyeson and i can login there and control my panel but just not in homeseer. It keeps saying bad password. I looked at the ini and it appears to be correct. I've even tried making the password longer, truncated it etc.. But to no avail. Can you give me any hints to try next. I want this plugin for sure if I can get it up and running. I've even uninstalled, wiped out the ini and reinstalled.

See log, I will edit out the password.

    Thanks!

the password you need to set is not the one you use for the eyezon portal, it's the one needed to access the local web interface http://envisalink

    default one is "user"

Spud or anyone that may be able to help:

I am on Day 3 of a 30-day HS3 trial. I desperately want to find a powerful and reliable alternative to my current Smartthings/Hubitat setup, but control of my Vista 20p alarm system via EVL4 is critical (and was working in Smartthings until I disconnected it).

I downloaded the EVL Plug-in and am running into a login issue similar to the post above. I am using the default password of “user” which was working fine with my Smartthings app. I thought perhaps it was refusing the login because Smartthings was still running so I unplugged everything that was part of that setup, rebooted my EVL4 and tried again. Still no luck – logs below.

Not sure if it means anything, but I also tried to PuTTY into the EVL4 in Raw format and I am prompted with "Login:" Upon entering "user" I received "FAILED" which is consistent with the logs below. I was told by Eyez-On support that PuTTY shouldn't work and to contact the app creator. Not sure where to go from here since homeseer code is not exposed to users.

Might there be another issue I am missing?

Can you log into the envisalink local webpage?
It should be accessible at http://envisalink or http://<ip of your EVL4>, username is user

If you can login try to change the user password to something else.

Thanks for the reply, but I just tried that again and still no luck. Went to my local EVL4 page, changed the user password, updated your plug-in and still no luck.
When I have a moment I am going to spin up my Smartthings Node Proxy (which also connects via TPI on port 4025) and see if that still works.

Smartthings back up and it's communicating with my EVL4 just fine. Here a link for reference: https://github.com/redloro/smartthin...ster/README.md

This leads me to believe the plug-in is not communicating properly. Not sure how to investigate further.

What firmware version do you have on your EVL4?
Is HS3 running on Windows or Linux?

Could you stop smartthings and try again by changing to a password > 6 characters and then with one < 6 characters. I remember one user had this kind of problem before but I don't remember exactly what was the cause.
If you can't figure it out, I can have a look if you let me access your system. You can contact me via pm or at spud.webb.4@gmail.com

                  Great news!!!
I disconnected Smartthings, rebooted my EVL4, changed the IP to static (even though it defaults to the same IP each time), changed the password to a 6-digit number, and modified/restarted your plug-in.
I'm sure it was your suggestion about the 6-digit number that made it work, but figured I note my steps for the next user that reads this post.

I am able to arm, disarm, and bypass zones through the interface and I'm ready to start automating.
I had originally noted that updates were constant, but that's the plug-in sending constant commands when debug messaging is on.
All works very well now. Thank you for your help!
