The plugin will create the HS devices for you automagically.

First, setup the flags in your panel.
Go to the plugin page and click on the Flags tab.
Select the flags you want to track/control in HS.

From there, you can write events from the flag statuses or control them.

Are you asking about creating flags in HS3 that do not exist in HAI? You can do that by using counters.

I use counters to replicate the flag function in HS3 in situations where HAI control or interaction is not necessary or where I want more function than just on or off. In HAI a flag is either 0 for off or 1 for on. An HS3 counter has a huge range of values. You can limit your use to 0 and 1 for simple on and off, or setup more complex situations.

For example I run an iTunes player plugin in HS3. There are 3 possible settings for the repeat funtion: off, repeat 1 song, or repeat all songs. I have a counter called "repeat counter". Every time I press the repeat button on the HS3Touch screen it increments the counter by 1. If the counter exceeds 2, it gets reset to 0.

Now I can set up events that set the repeat function in the iTunes plugin based on that counter changing to either 0, 1 or 2. I also change the display on the HS3Touch screen to indicate which repeat mode is set. Works great

Rob and others, as always, please correct anything I got wrong.
