    Unable to connect to panel

The earlier thread "Can't get it to work" looked promising but it looks like bkobistek has a different problem, so I'm starting a new thread.

    What I Did:
    • I installed the plugin from the Plug-Ins page inside HomeSeer.
    • From the Installed Plug-Ins list I clicked the name and was able to enter all the information in the initial Configuration tab. Instructions were to restart the plugin to get it working.
    • To re-start I went back to the Plug-Ins/Manage page and disabled the plugin. Once it was disabled I clicked it again to enable the plugin.

After the "Initializing..." popup cleared the status changed to "CRITICAL: Plugin has disconnected." (same as bkobistek) and a Windows popup appeared saying that "HSPI_HAI has stopped working" with options to close the program (which I did).

I tried this a couple times and had the same results each time.

My problem differs in that I don't ever seem to make the connection with the panel. It looks like it disconnects as soon as it connects. This would appear to be a credential issue but I double-checked my keys and they are correct.

Any ideas where I should go next?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Here is the log file with the first couple of attempts. It tries 5 times and gives up so no need to repeat them:

Hi Jeff. This usually indicates either the keys are not entered correctly, or that the panel cannot be reached from the plugin. Check your HAI.ini file and make sure your keys are entered correctly. Then, make sure you can ping your panel's IP address.

What model panel do you have?

Well, I can assure you crow doesn't taste very good because I just had to eat some.

Despite a "second look" earlier, my "third look" revealed a one digit mis-type in one of my keys. No more errors and things seem to be working. Thanks for the help... and sorry I missed something so simple!

          No problem Jeff!

I had thought about adding a cursory 'ping' of the panel prior to connecting just to make sure IP connectivity is there. That would allow me to address Bob's issue. Once that passed, then the next step would be to validate the keys.

I may add this to my list for future enhancements.
