New to UltraM1G! Serial or Ethernet?

I am new too this and am wondering if there is an advantage to connecting Via Serial or Ethernet?

The serial connection allows only once device to connect at a time (UltraM1G plug-in, Elk RP).

The Elk M1XEP (ethernet connection) would allow connections from multiple devices (e.g. UltraM1G plug-in, Elk RP, etc). It also supports other features like email notifications that can be triggered via Elk rules or HomeSeer events.
