    ad2serial not communicating with HS

    Just bought the plugin (should have tested it first I suppose) and I'm having issues getting it to talk to the ad2serial I have installed in my 21p panel.

    I can communicate through putty on COM1 at 19200 n81 just fine with the ad2serial device and issue commands and see responses through it, but when I set it to COM1 in the HS ad2 plugin, it fails to communicate with the device (I closed my terminal program as well before launching HS).

    Is it attempting to communicate using 115200? Can this be specified anywhere? The docs specifically say "The AD2SERIAL Adapter operates at a different baud rate (19200,8,n,1).

    I'll keep digging but any help would be appreciated.

    FYI I also installed the beta, and the same thing happened.

    Incidentally, this is what happens:

    4/18/2013 12:35:12 PM - Vista Alarm - Searching for House Codes...
    4/18/2013 12:35:12 PM - Vista Alarm - Loading the Partitions
    4/18/2013 12:35:12 PM - Vista Alarm - Opened COM port 1
    4/18/2013 12:35:12 PM - Vista Alarm - Sent cmd: V
    4/18/2013 12:35:15 PM - Vista Alarm - Found the AD2USB on COM port 1 running firmware version unknown
    4/18/2013 12:35:15 PM - Vista Alarm - Searching for House Codes...
    4/18/2013 12:35:15 PM - Vista Alarm - Loading RF Devices...
    4/18/2013 12:35:15 PM - Vista Alarm - Loading Zones...
    4/18/2013 12:35:15 PM - Vista Alarm - Monitor started...

    If I try to shutdown HS, it says "Shutting down Vista Alarm" and then locks up HomeSeer (I have to kill the process).

      i'm not at my working system right now but i think you need to do the following:

      add

      baudrate=19200

      to the [settings] or [general] section of the vistaalarm.ini. can't remember which it is

      add it to the [ad2usb] section as well. you may need to create this section

        Yup. That did it.

        Adding

        baudrate=19200 to [General] worked.

        This might be something you would want to put in the FAQ or docs somewhere (unless I missed it!)

        Thanks!

          i think you are the first ad2serial user here. Let me know how it goes.

          PS i added the baudrate comment to the Getting Started thread. Thanks for the suggestion
