here is the issue regarding the fault/clearing of zones: the number of digits which represent a zone number isn't matching my current logic.

from the following msg, the second section "106" (which i use as the zone number) doesn't match zone 6 which you created in the plugin. it also doesn't match the 06 in the alpha message.

    Apr-11 7:09:33 AM Vista Alarm [00010001000000000A--],106,[f707000400068000080200000d0000],"FAULT 06 FAMILY MOTION DETECTOR "
how many zones do you have programmed into the panel?

how many zones in partition 1 and partition 2?

when you bypass zone 6 from a physical keypad, what do you enter? i'm curious if you enter 06 or 006 for the zone number

      1) In order to verify the number of partitions, I used my "main" keypad and used the "GOTO" command ( code + * + partition # (1-8). I tried all partition numbers and got the following:
      code * 0 => "LOG-ON TO P1 PART.1 COMPLETE"
      code * 1 => "LOG-ON TO P1 PART.1 COMPLETE"
      code * 2 => "LOG-ON TO MASTER PART.9 COMPLETE"
all others, 3-8 I got nothing on Alpha display.

      So I guess I have 2 partitions.
Does the fact that I have a STAY button which only arms the perimeter mean that that is a partition????
      ----
      2)
      Some additional info:

I pressed 1 and 3 for 5 seconds on each of our keypads to get their 2 digit address.

The first floor keypad said 00
The second floor keypad said 31
The ad2serial is set for 18

      -----
From the first floor keypad using #93 mode, I determined the following configuration:

      Device 1 Alpha Console
      Device 2 Alpha Console
      Device 3 RF Expander
      Device 4 is Voice Module
      Device 18 is Alpha Console

ZONES: all seemed to be associated with Partition 1

      POINT 01 SMOKE DETECTORS
      POINT 02 FRONT DOOR
      POINT 03 GARAGE ENTRY DOOR
      POINT 04 KITCHEN SLIDING DOOR
      POINT 05 GARAGE MOTION DETECTOR
POINT 06 FAMILY ROOM MOTION DETECTOR
POINT 07 LIVING ROOM MOTION DETECTOR
      POINT 08 BASEMENT MOTION DETECTOR
      POINT 09 FAMILY ROOM WINDOWS
      POINT 10 LIVING ROOM WINDOWS
      POINT 11 DINING ROOM WINDOWS
      POINT 12 ZONE 12

      3) I bypass zone 6 with 06 not 006

thanks for the info. I don't understand what Partition 2 is used for but its not important right now.

Sean and I are are trying to resolve the ad2usb messages you posted vs what a 128p panel produces. The 128p uses a 3 digit zone number. the 50p uses a 2 digit code but yours seems to acting different than other 50p panels i have run into.

        stay tuned

          Mark,
I decided to power cycle the panel. Here are the messages. I didn't see any 106 interestingly. I hope this helps.

well that looks better regarding the zone numbers, are the zone devices tracking properly now?

are the arm/disarm statuses tracking for Partition 1? all i see is Part. 2 activity

                  Mark,
The zones are still not tracking. Did the information I gave you in a few posts ago regarding the GOTO partition give you a better idea of my configuration.
I wish the installer would have competed those grids at the end of the docs he left detailing how this system was configured.

I am still seeing partition 2 in the log but when I went through the programming for the zones, it said that they were associated with P1 so I am very confused. It seems from the line below ( from a few posts back )
                  code * 2 => "LOG-ON TO MASTER PART.9 COMPLETE"
that I have a partition 9, not 2? What can I do to get a definitive handle on this configuration so we can get the zone update working?

the addresses you assigned to the partitions in the plugin don't make sense. my guess is you don't actually have a keypad assigned to address 1 or 2. correct me if this is wrong.

lets do the following in the plugin config:
set the address of Partition 2 to Disabled - we don't need this for zone control
set the address of Partition 1 to 31.
                    retest zone faulting.
if that doesn't help set Part 1 address in plugin to 0
                    retest

                    within the panel programming
make sure address 18 is assigned to partition 1
create a new user code (within the panel) that only has access to Partition 1 (ie not a master code or system admin code)
enter this user code into the partition 1 user code field

                    retest

                      Mark,
I disabled partition and once done, all of the zone statuses changed to normal. I am remotely connected to my pc so I cannot fault a zone and then disarm to see if the zone returns to normal status . I will do that when I get home. I will see what happens before proceeding with your instructions.

With regard to the keypad addresses:

From the first floor keypad using #93 mode, I determined the following configuration:

                      Device 1 Alpha Console
                      Device 2 Alpha Console
                      Device 3 RF Expander
                      Device 4 is Voice Module
                      Device 18 is Alpha Console

I pressed 1 and 3 for 5 seconds on each of our keypads to get their 2 digit address.

The first floor keypad said 00
The second floor keypad said 31
The ad2serial is set for 18

So maybe you are correct with the keypad idea. From the information above, is my keypad at 1 or 0? One way says device 1 is keypad, the other says its address 00????

                        ok. we're making progress.

regarding device # vs address: the plugin only cares about "addresses". Addresses are coded into the ad2usb msgs and thus the addresses are what is needed to decode them.

My guess is if you change the plugin partition 1 to address 0 or 31 (assuming both are associated with partition 1 in the panel programming), the zone tracking will work.

one thing you can try remotely is doing a Bypass on a zone. if the plugin updates the status correctly then we are really making progress. you can Disarm to return the zone to Normal.

                          Mark,
Disabling Partition 2 on the Plugin config page only:
                          1) Zones are tracking
                          2) Messages in the log file now refer only to partition 1, not partition 2 as before
                          3) I can bypass a zone, status goes to bypassed, arm system as STAY, and upon disarm and say closing faulted door, the zone status goes back to normal
                          4) Partition 1 device address is still set to 1 but earlier you said
"set the address of Partition 1 to 31." ..."to 0". Do you still want me to try that? Any other tests I need to do to confirm proper integration? Things seem to be working but I want it to be configured properly so that if anything say changes in the plugin that currently tolerates my "goofy" config it won't stop working in the future.

                          5) BTW, I'm still "weirded-out" by that Partition 9 stuff in my previous posts.

                            1. good
                            2. good
                            3. good
                            4. please try address 0 for Partition 1, then address 31 and see if 1,2,3 still work
                            5. these extra partitions are apparently normal when a professional installer does the config. they can be used to notify a monitor company of certain events, or other alerts that are independent of the primary partition (#1). I would just ignore it unless the installer gave you specific instructions. the plugin will just ignore these msgs.

i don't think there is anything else to test except the other arm buttons.

i think we are almost there

Changed partition 1 to address 0 and everything worked ( same as address 1 ).

                              Processing msg on Partition 1

Setting it to 31 did not work. No zone tracking.

                              [10010001000000003A--],006,[f70700040006801c08020000000000],"****DISARMED**** READY TO ARM "

                              Ignoring Message
So, should I keep partition 1 address as 0 or 1?

Also, I am seeing an interesting phenomenon on my 2nd floor alpha keypad. This is the one that I think is addressed as 31. Both the armed ( red) and ready ( green ) led's are on. I wonder if setting HS config to address 31 caused this. Not sure what to do here. One thing that makes it more difficult is that the installer ( years ago ) convinced me to let him set the screen on this keypad up so that it is blank ( he said you could see it from the front door and wanted to hide the alarm state ) . Well that sounded good, but now, the keys seem to work and their lights work too but nothing shows up on the lcd. I thought that the lcd used to light up once a key was hit but not now. Could this blank screen business be an indicator of a system configuration issue? I'm not sure how to figure out if it is related to the 31 address I setup or what. Any ideas on that?

lets stick with Address 0 for partition 1 in the plugin. address 1 must be used for one of your other alarm devices.

if you find a keypad manual you should be able to restore the lcd screen. not sure about the red/green issue. it might be worth resetting the keypad (again you need the manual for your keypad model)

i believe addr 31 is some kind of universal address to show all msgs from all devices. i wouldn't change anything related to that.
