    Zones slow to clear

    Hello,

I have noticed that my zones are slow to clear.
For example, if I close a door the panel shows it as secure right away but the plugin sometimes takes a minute or so to update. Sometimes the zone won't change until the panel updates such as a disarm or chime.

I have the Message Timeout down to 4 seconds. I think 2 seconds causes it to trigger too often.

    Firmware version:- V2.2a.6 serial
    Plugin:- Vista Alarm, version: 3.0.0.15

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, great plugin

please post a debug log showing the fault, annotate when you clear the zone, and capture when the plugin updates the status.

also, it appears you upgraded to hs3. make sure you have all the hs3 plugin settings correct: keypad address, user codes, etc.

Thanks for the quick reply. Pretty sure all of the HS3 settings are OK (see screenshot).
I think I may have had the same issue in HS2.

I have LRR on to use the user feature. I will tried turning it off in the plugin. The alarm panel sent a warning beep but otherwise I didn't see any change in the behavior.

A debug log is attached. It is hard to annotate so I also attached a picture.
        Comments:

        1) Panel seems to be working fine. It shows faults and clears quickly.
        2) The plugin shows faults quickly (good thing)
        3) The plugin has a delay of several seconds or more to show cleared zones
        4) While debugging, it seemed to be worse if more than one zone was faulted
(Not sure but I was able to reproduce)

To debug, I tried opening Zone 8 (Kitchen) and closing several times. The plugin seemed to respond well.

I then faulted Zone 7 (Living Room). Zone 8 and motion would fault but then seemed to hang on clearing.

your message timeout is too low. lets go back to 10 secs and retest. on my 20p, i use 11 secs.

the plugin only knows when a zone is cleared if it doesn't receive a fault msg. so you have to wait for the timeout before the plugin responds. this is the same as it was in HS2.

the Interface Address of 0 is suspicious. did you actually program that in the panel?

can you copy&paste the log and use the Quote feature to block it like this

OK, I have been debugging. Big thanks for the support!
Good eyes on the Interface address (I bet you are tired of this one). 0 makes no sense, the first keypad is 16 and I have a 2nd keypad (17), so the interface is 18. I confirmed in the panel.
I corrected and also checked the partition, which is set to partition 1 on keypad 16.

I turned off the 2nd partition and LRR on both the plug in and panel.

I set the Message Timeout back to 10sec

I did a hard reboot on the panel and ad2USB (powered off of the panel) and rebooted HS3.

Still getting the same issue- if more than one zone is faulted, the 2nd zone doesn't clear quickly (I think that it does eventually)

Here is with all zones closed. I open and close zone 8 (kitchen quickly) and the plugin responds quickly (normal)

when more than one zone is faulted, the time to update a cleared zone increases by a factor of the number of faulted zones. so if you have two zones faulted, and you clear one of those zones, it will take 20 secs to update the status. Again because fault msgs alternate between the two zones. the plugin has to wait to make sure the zone is actually cleared.

Can you please try the latest beta? its available in the Beta section of the Updater

please test the 2 zone fault scenario and post a new debug log.

for future logs, please uncheck the Suppress duplicate alarm messages. something is going on that we are not seeing.

                OK, Thanks!

I loaded the new beta last night before I went to sleep. No change, runs OK but the delay for the 2nd zone to clear persists.

I also deleted the vista.ini and reset the plugin settings.

Could this be a ad2USB serial issue? It is set at a Baud of 115200. I read on the Nutech forum that the serial AD2USB runs better at 19200. I added BaudRate=19200 line to the [General] section of the .ini, but the plugin wouldn't run properly.

                Here is the log-
It is interesting. I did the 2 zone test with suppress messages off.

                I had Zone 12 faulted
Then faulted Zone 8 at 6:08:47
                I closed Zone 8 at 6:09:23

The log went silent and no zone changes (8 did not clear) for several minutes.

At 6:18:20, I faulted the motion zone 2 and the log responded and Zone 8 finally cleared

you are correct the baudrate should be 19200. and you implemented it correctly.

can you test the ad2serial using putty.exe to see if the messages are received consistently.

as a next step, would you mind updating the ad2serial firmware? i believe there is a newer ver available

OK, I confirmed the log stops when I close the 2nd zone and only restarts if I trigger another alarm event.

I will retry the 19200 Baud and see what is going on in Putty later today.

Retried the .ini for 19200 baud.
It stuck and I confirmed 19200 transmission but the plugin stopped working.

Does the plugin need to be set to 19200?

I will try to update the firmware next. I think that there is one newer version.

                      Thanks

the plugin doesn't care about the baud rate. the plugin opens the com port with 115200 by default. As you said, Nutech suggests 19200 for the ad2serial. So the ini setting allows you to override the default which should have a positive effect on the ad2serial.

                          Hmm....

                          1) Running latest plugin beta
                          2) Updated Firmware to ademcoemu_V2_2a_8.hex. rebooted AD2USB, checked config settings
                          3) AD2USB Serial only runs at Baud 115200
                          3) Seems to work OK in Putty/Keypad
