I thought his domain was dead. I’ll try to download it this weekend. At least there will be a copy I can post somewhere if the domain is not maintained.

I thought so too when I tried to download the software. But Google gave me this link that still worked. So I’ll take the win.

Does anyone know if Backitude is working with PHLocation 2 on HS4? I had tried last year, but Backitude was unable to update PHL2 via MyHS. I have Backitude configured with this server:

          https://connected2.homeseer.com/phl2api?dtype=BK

At the time there was an issue with HTTP POST method and backitude not supporting JSON.

I can't answer that question with certainty, but I switched from Backitude to a custom Automate flow. See here for details: https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/te...20#post1288020

P.s. I've changed up my flow a little since the linked post. If you have troubles and would like help let me know.

Has anyone been able to make PHLocation2 using Geofency work on HS4 MyHS Connect using the URL:

              https://connected2.homeseer.com/phl2api?dtype=GF

This used to work fine in HS3 but since MyHS Connect moved to HS4 this URL no longer works. Not in GeoFency and Not in a Web Browser. Has anyone been able to make GeoFency work with HS4 and PHLocation2?

              Thanks for any help...

Mine is still working fine and has been since moving to HS4. For reasons I don’t understand, even though it didn’t change, I had to enter my MYHS credentials on every GeoFency fence again.

If you browse to that url, you should be prompted for a username and password. After entering you should see: “Error! Fence data check type [F] failed.”.

GeoFency still works fine in PHLocation2, either through VPN, port forwarding oe MyHS.
Paul, the developer, has abandoned the project. While he apparently communicated to a user earlier this year, he and I have not communicated since December, 2020.
Yes, iCloud support was broken by Apple early last year or in 2020. I transitioned to FollowMee, which is still working well.
All the functionality of HS3 remains in HS4.

randy, I have used GeoFency and PHLocation2 extensively in HS3. But since moving to HS4 I have been unable to get them to work. I have even tried just having the webhooks of GeoFency make calls directly to HS4 using my dynamic dns of my home system and port forwarding. It still does not work. I have found a workaround that is not very elegant but works.

IFTTT offers a "webhooks" applet. I can create a webhook listener on IFTTT for say (arrives_at_home) then I have GeoFency send a GET request to that URL. IFTTT in turn it told that when this URL is called it is to then call a HomeSeer HS4 event. This works, but would be better if GeoFency could make a JSON call directly to my HomeSeer HS4 server in my home rather than going through IFTTT.

I will open a ticket with HomeSeer support to see if they can troubleshoot why a JSON web call to my homeseer HS4 server is not working. It is not the firewall or port forward since the server gets the connection but does not honor it. I think it might be because even though you pass the username and password in the URL, the system in HS4 still require the use of "Basic Authentication" when you connect to it from a different subnet. HS3 would just honor the credentials in the URL with no Basic Authentication.

I will keep you posted. Let me know if you have any ideas.

                      here are my application settings

                      geofency

                      use myhs user and password

                      url: https://connected2.homeseer.com/phl2api?dtype=EG&

make sure you're able to log into myhs so you can veirty you have the right username and password. as I recall it asked for a new user/pw when I migrated from HS3 to HS4

I've been getting this continuously in the log for the past 4 hours or so. Anyone else having issues? I use PHLocation2 with Life360 on Android phones. Not sure whether it might be a L360 server issue or something on my side. I've restarted to plugin to no avail.

edit: Or I suppose L360 could've changed their data format, in which case I'm dead in the water with PHLocation2...

Wade Unfortunately I had those same warnings a few months ago. I ended up switching to HS Buddy.

That's not encouraging, especially since the errors are still logging every minute. But thanks for the feedback.

racerfern Interestingly, my PHLocation2 devices in HS appear to still be updating, it's just inconvenience of the flood of errors in the log that's the issue. Did you see the same?

Wade It was inconsistent IIRC. The annoying errors was the final straw. I'm not sure it's an PH Location issue since it had been fine, but HS certainly wasn't interested in digging deeper, and with a dead in the water plug-in what's the sense.
