AT&T officially shut down 3G in my area and my E173 is no longer functioning. Has anyone gotten the AT&T USB800 4G stick to work?

You're correct. The software doesn't know / care what the band is, as long as the device is live and functioning. And yes, I can use other options (e-mail to text, twilio, pushover etc) but I was using this more for out of band important messages that didn't rely on my main internet connection. Also, e-mail to text each appear to come from a different sender so they were a disorganized mess. Using this SMS gateway had them all come from one number, which I could then handle differently. My question is really around finding what more modern 4G/5G devices people were using that did work with this plug-in.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe the plugin is using 3G or 4G directly anyway. Most services like that use an Internet gateway to the cell company, which then sends out the wireless text message. You have to install specialized hardware (essentially a specialized phone) to directly send an SMS message, which Homeeer does not have. Some home burglar alarms or car infotainment systems have that specialized hardware, and those system may need an upgrade.

Did you know that you can send a SMS message by sending an EMail with a specific address? For example, 8005551212@txt.att.net is used by to send a text to an AT&T phone.

Unfortunately that is a method that spammers are using to spam text messages, so the phone companies have been putting limits on that method.

AT&T said they're going to turn off that line of service because the 3G device using that line will no longer be compatible.

Following... But I'm on Verizon. Not sure if it makes a difference at the LTE level.

With AT&T turning off 3G on Feb 22, and other vendors following suit later in the year, what 4G or later devices are people using that work with this Plug-in?
Working...
