Trendnet usb modem TFM-560U CID problem

I could not get the Rosevill RNX-56usb working so I tried the Trendnet model and They seem to work on most of the CID if get but on some cell phones calls I get no CID.

I look and found a strange thing when I turn on debug.
/4/2010 2:43:35 PM UltraCID Debug Entered ProcessReceived() function with a string [DATE=0304]
3/4/2010 2:43:35 PM UltraCID Debug Entered ProcessReceived() function with a string [TIME=1443]
3/4/2010 2:43:35 PM UltraCID Debug Entered ProcessReceived() function with a string [NMBR=4072847xxx]
3/4/2010 2:43:35 PM UltraCID Debug Entered ProcessReceived() function with a string [NMBR=OUT OF AREA]
3/4/2010 2:43:35 PM UltraCID Debug Entered ProcessReceived() function with a string [.]

It looks like I get an extra NMBR that seems to cancel out the CID information into the plugin.

IT looks like it should at least show the first number without the name.

This call worked ok I get both the number and name.

    Help????

What driver did you load for the RNX-56usb modem? What operating system are you running?
Plug-ins: UltraMon, UltraM1G, UltraCID, Ultra1Wire, UltraLog, UltraWeatherBug, UltraPioneerAVR, UltraGCIR

Another user had the same issue on a HomeTroller. Please try the driver I posted here in this thread:

still no CID information from the Rnx-56usb

Install the dirve that you referance.

This is the rusults of putty
          ATZ

          OK
          AT+VCID=1
          OK

          RING

          RING
          AT+VCID?
          1

But the Trendnet modem gives CID information but has problem with seniding NMBR=OUT OF AREA after it sends the correct NMBR on cell phones because there is no name i guess.

So I know the line is working.

Strange is that both modems that I just got have the same probem

Can you enter the following commands for both modems into PuTTY, then call your own number, then provide me the output?

            ATZ
            ATQ0V1E0
            AT+GMM
            AT+VCID=1
            AT+FCLASS=8
            AT-STE=7

You should see R when ringing and a caller ID output between the first and second ring. In addition, you should be able to lift another handset and see p and P being written to the PuTTY terminal.

            Regards,

              results of test

              TFM-560U modem test

              DATE=0307
              TIME=1159

Note the P offhook does not work this this modem.

RNX-56USB modem test with driver as referance on board.
Both cell phone and land line gives the same output but no CID information.
all command give ok even the offhook P also works

              OK
              R
              R
              R

IF I could get the TrenDnet modem to work I would be happy.
IT is strange that both of the new RNX-56USB modem have the same problem.
I did have one working untill I got a power surge on my phone line and the old modem will not detet when it is pluged into pc. This is why I order 2 new ones from Newegg and just got them last week. maybe the new one have problems with CID now or somthing.

I did put one of them into my windows 7 pc and had no CID information using the windows 7 driver and putty.

Okay, I can add a work-around for the NMBR=OUT OF AREA. I'll post an update here when done.

Update now works with ATT cell phones

I guess I will look at sending the RNX-56USB back to newegg.

The Trendent TFM-560U is now working.

                    Thanks for fixing this problem.

                      Current thoughts on the Trendnet?

UltraJones is looking for feedback on the Trendnet modem (and others) - do you have any new comments now that you've had this running for a while?

If so maybe post on the other thread too - http://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=145530
