Cant's get my U.S. Robotics PCI modem to work with UltraCID...

I dont's know why, but I can't get my modem to work with UltraCID. My modem is an almost new U.S. Robotics 56K PCI modem that work very well with Girder's caller ID plugin and other caller ID software I've tried. I can connect le modem to the plugin, status is "OK" but I get always the same error in the log at startup: UltraCID Warning - No response/improper response from modem command 'AT+VCID=1'. Same error for all the init string set in the plugin. And then I get: Error - Initializing interface: UltraCID->Could not initialize modem caller ID!

I've tried those init string in HyperTerminal and some work, some don't.

Even id AT+VCID=1 work, I always get an error in the plugin: "UltraCID Warning - No response/improper response from modem command"...... but it work in Hyperterminal and all the other CID software!!

I can see how many call was received, number of rings, but any info about the last aller remind UNKNOW and queries to the database report nothing...

Please help!

I don't see your modem responding to any of the commands. In fact, it just looks like your modem is echoing the command is receives. If you connect to the modem using hyperterminal, what response do you get when you enter "ATQ0V1E0" (without the quotes)?

Sure, it's in COM3, and I can get it work with many CID software.

I just tried with an older U.S. Robotics PCI modem I had, this one's chipset is genuine 3Com and the newer I was using have a TI Chipset. BTW the older modem does not work either, I think the plugin got a serious incompatibilty issue with USR modems...

I also tried to reinstall HS on another computer with a clean OS, same problem, the plugin simply don't work with USR modems.

I got two other modem yesterday and I've tried it with UltraCID, One is a HP LSI Soft modem and the second is a US Robotics soft modem 5660a. Both initialize well with UltraCID but I can't get any CID info. Ring, Ring Ring but no CID, even in a terminal window...

The first modem, the US Robotics PCI is a expensive hard modem and for now it is the only modem I tried that displays the CID info in Terminal or many other CID apps... It has no reason for not working in UltraCID... I really hope you'll find what is happening.

Caller ID on USR

Have you tried using AT#CID=1 instead of the default at+vcid=1? Most USR modems like # commands better.
