    Feature?

    Not sure if the UltraCID is supposed to work this way, but on calls that have not already entered the database, there is never an announcement. Can we have an option to announce always, or perhaps play a generic announcement / wav file of our own if the caller is not currently in the database?

    The plugin was gaining some WAF, I can tell as she always perks up listening for the announcement to see if she should bother with it - By the second ring there is grumbling when no announce, then it takes yet another ring for one of us to answer it.

    This is a bit weird - I mentioned in the previous post that "new" callers don't announce - and what reminded me was a call yesterday from 480 areacode. Today I am poking around looking at my settings to make sure it isn't something *I* am not doing right. I cannot find the number anywhere. It is as if it never happened.

    Checked my phone's built in CID and the # is there. Weird. Can having too many records in the database cause problems?

      Tonight I got the same 480 prefix call and this time it did register / got stored in the db. I am thinking that I might have picked it up too quickly the other day. This is good.

      Original question remains - is it possible to have a speak option for new numbers? (See first post)

        Yes, I'll add an option to announce new callers. I'll post an update when done.

          Excellent!!
          Much thanks - If there was a hook somehow where speech proxy could tell it was "new" then ability to insert something ahead of the message would be cool to - or even a beep or some predefined thing to preceed the announcement -

                I deleted my wife's cell # from the database, called our landline with it and heard the announcement "New Incoming Call..." just fine.
