    nuisance callS

I marked up my cellphone as "announce" and "blocked" in the database but it doesn't disconnect the caller when I make a test call.

The log shows it trying but the line just keeps on ringing.

Is the hangup option built into the database or do I need an event set up ?

Still confused and not sure how to test this !

    Modem is Trendnet TFM-760U

    Try this workaround

I had the same problem at first. Try this workaround.

Under the options for ultracid and in the drop caller section of the modem configuration, add a line that contains "atdt," (without the quotes)after the line that says "AT+VLS=5" and before the line that says "ATH"

    Hope that helps.

      David G,

That fixed it. Thanks a lot !

Have any more tricks I might need to know about ?

I would like blocked calls and telemarketer calls to play some recordings (wave files) before hanging up but not sure how to do them ?

        Glad it's working.

Regarding playing a wave, i suspect that is beyond the current capabilities of UltraCID. If it is possible, it would likely need to be done through a script.

I know there's an AT command to set the modem up to send a sound file, but I'm thinking that he actual sending of said sound file has to happen elsewhere. Don't know how you'd get access to the OS and file system from the modem's command mode. All that is to say that it must happen outside of the bounds of the "drop call" configuration box.

It would be cool, though, to be able to have it play a sound file for each of the caller types that are defined..."friends", "Family" "Block", etc. Maybe put that on the feature request section and see if Ultra has time or interest.
