Rich: Just had some time to play with this... I did as you said, blowing out the HSPHONE section of the settings.ini file, and it is still as described above.
Message is recorded to rectemp.wav ONLY, nothing is saved in the Messages folder. Icon in system tray blinks red. Announcement that there is a new message. No message shown in the HSPhone GUI.
