    Difficulty in getting Way2Call to function

    I have been trying to interface my Way2Call unit to my setup and have tried to install many times, using 2 different computers.

    W2call does not recognize the phone going OFF hook or tone commands.


    Driver installation seems to go well (tried cleaning and re-installing many times).
    Runing the Hi-Phone test wizard after drivers and way2Call software install proves that the hardware works fine with my phone system but when I try to add the way2call to the line in the phone setup tab I get the following error message:

    Error Initializing Hi-Phone (Set Tones): Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
    HSPhone Error initializing Hi-Phone driver, possible corrupt or missing drivers, or Hi-Phone is not plugged in or powered on.

    HS version 2.1.104.0 and 2.3.0.19

    Any help would be appreciated.





    A) Intel Celeron 600, 192MB Ram - Win XP Home, 2002 Service Pack 1
    B) Intel Pentium - 2.8Ghz, 1GB Ram - XP Media Center V2002 service pack 3

    Which Way2Call unit do you have? Serial, USB, version, firmware, etc.

      I reread your post, the following probably won't help. Go to post #4

      This is an old post of mine that helped somebody else out.

      Let's give this a stab, it has been a long time since I've reinstalled mine.

      #1 Take the HS out of your Windows Startup directory (if it is there)
      #2 Leave the W2C power on, unplug the USB part
      #3 Go to Add and Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel, remove the Hi-Phone Drivers
      #4 Leaving the W2C unplugged at the USB, reboot computer

      -------------------

      #5 After reboot, reinstall the W2C driver package, it will eventually search coms ports and USB ports for the W2C, let it do it once and let if fail. It will ask you if you want to search again. Don't click anything there yet
      #6 Open up the device window under Windows/System Properties/Device Manager/
      #7 Plug in the W2C into the USB port, it should see it and install the drivers. The device manager window should jump around as it adds the various components of the W2C
      #8 Now rerun the search in the W2C program and it should see you W2C as a USB device, finished the install and reboot. Then try to run HS again.

      Let us know if/when one of these steps fail.

        Plug your W2C into the wall jack.
        Plug just one phone straight into the back of the W2C and see if it works then.

        There are possibly either too many phones hanging off the out of the W2C or there may be another house wiring issue.

                I have been testing with a single phone and, the way2call wizard allows me to test the phone / way2call interface and all tests pass (OFF hook, all key presses, ON hook, dialing out, recording etc)

                    Odd - your FW is 4.53.33
                    W2C website lists older firmware:
                    Hi-Phone Desktop USB, P/N HD00USGR02 (Must run on WIN XP)*
                    Version: 4.03.33
                    Updated: 14-Aug-2008

                    I am running a GR-01 (older unit).
                    I show newer interface and drivers.
                    I checked the W2C website and the drivers they show now seem to be for multiple units.
                    So, PM me with an email address and I'll send my latest drivers.

                    Single Device Integration Platform (NRND)



                    Important note: The Single Device Drivers are Not Recommended for New Development (NRND), Not support WIN Server 2003, and Not support WIN VISTA

                    So - has you W2C worked any other time? Forgive me if you covered this please.

                      I noticed that too Bill - and my W2C works just great on 2k3 Server....

                        I wonder if I can run 2 W2C units with this.
                        I'm running HS PRO and currently I am running a W2C and a HS PCI modem.
