Way2Call and/or HSPhone quit on me - Fixed!

Last week it stopped taking messages and stopped getting caller ID. It's been working fine for years, but just quit suddenly. I have not changed any setting/driver/etc., as far as I know.

I ran the Hi-Phone USB diagnostics - all tests passed.

Absolutely nothing appears in the HS log during incoming calls. The only clue I see in the log is an error during startup:

This error indicates the drivers for the Way2Call are not installed correctly. Have you tried a system restore to see if this solves this?

No - this is for VR - Initializing Voice Recognition. I get this in my logs and the Way2Call still functions fine for callerid and voice messages. I dont use VR over the Way2Call, so I cant say if this affects it or not.

Look to see if you have the way2call dll file in the HomeSeer directory if you do , shut down HS, back up the file and delete the file. Then restart HS and see if this fixed this issue.

It's got to be something else if it has worked fine for years and suddenly stopped?

I have had this same problem several times after a system crash, power problem or something similar. Normally it is driver related and I have to uninstall the whole thing and make sure I have all of the driver files removed. Then I normally reinstall whatever the most recent driver is from the way2call site and things are up and going again.

I did a repair of HS from Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. And for good measure I did the same for .NET. HSPhone seems to work OK now.

I can only guess that some file or setting got corrupted/deleted somewhere for some reason? Sunspot activity? Aliens preparing my system for their use in a scheme for global domination?
