What you are showing ksum is creating a "comfort setting" not actually Vacation Mode. There are limitations in Comfort settings. You cannot specify that either Heat or Cool can be off, just what temp you want the thermostat to be set to if you are in heat or cool mode. Vacation Mode allows you to specify that you want heat or cool to be on or off as well as the temperature setting. Is there any way to directly access Vacation Mode? Or a way to mimic it I suppose if that's not possible..

Also, Vacation Mode in Ecobee overrides any other program you have running. If you just create another comfort mode, it will still run the other modes based on your schedule in Ecobee.

I found vacation mode in ‘Current Program’ but don’t know how to select it as it (and Hold) don’t show in Events. I tried JSON, but don’t know how to incorporate Device and Features (mine is Device 7 and Feature 17).

Folks, you're asking for something that can't even be done in EcoBee's own interface or API. Unless I missed something, you can't simply push a button and say "I'm in vacation mode now".

Your EcoBee goes into Vacation mode based on a Vacation Event you create in the EcoBee app, web site, or at the thermostat. A vacation event has a start and stop time, along with the thermostat parameters you want during that time (temp, fan, etc).

The only function that is possible from the API is to resume a normal program or cancel/delete a Vacation mode.
