16 RC-80 Thermostats- 2 simple questions.

I have 16 RC thermostats in my house and consdering re-using HS but having
two questions:


-I cannot locate the RC-202 signal booster recommended by HAI..I know I saw it on the web a few years back, was 200$! Any ways around it? Any substitutes?


-Could I instead install FOUR RS-232 segments (via a usb to 4 serial port) each segment supporting 4 thermostats. If so does HS support FOUR instances of the HAI-Termostat Plug-In. I have seen this wiring recommended on the web by OneHome for such a setup.


thanks in advance...last time I played with HS was 3 years ago and I realize now that the plug-in is more advanced...I kow I had given up at the time.

one instance of the plug-in can support multple tstats as each stat is setup with a different address.

regarding the power booster, my undstanding is this is needed for very long runs. can't remember the specs though

yes but can you have four instances of the plug in within HS (i.e each plug in opens a diferrent COM port)
