I am planning to setup the integration of HS3 with the Amazon Echo. At this point, the Name, Floor and Device names have to be very specific for accurate recognition with the Echo skill. Can I change the Room and Device names that you create with the plugin without causing issues? I realize that if I add (or delete and add) a Tstat, I would have to change all of the names again.

The floor and room are somewhat arbitrary and set by the plugin when devices are created to a default value. If you use the Modify Device config tab to set different floor and room that shouldn't have any operational affect.
The device names are also specifically generated based on the thermostat name plus an appropriate extension for the type (Cool or Heat etc.) If you use the Modify Device config tab to set a different device name, then HS3 may refer to it by that new name but internally the plugin will continue to use a PED value of the originally generated name. Look at the Modify Device for the Insteon Thermostat tab and you'll see the PED data stored for internal plugin use.
So, long story short is I believe you'll be ok. I did some very quick testing and seems to work ok with different floor, room and device name values. Please do test with a single thermostat and verify you get what you expect before going on to do mass configurations.

I've received a few questions about control via Amazon Echo so I've ordered my own. It's been on back order a while so hopefully will arrive soon. After that I'll do some experimentation. I may have some questions etc.
Anyway, just wanted you to know that this was in the works.

This has been addressed in the new plugin version 3.0.5.0 which has several changes to better support the Floor, Room and Device names for thermostat and HVACs to align better with the Amazon Echo usage. See thread:
