Look in your HS3 directory and see if you have two copies of HSPI_INSTEON_THERMOSTAT.exe

    C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeSeer HS3

    should only have

    HSPI_INSTEON_THERMOSTAT.exe
    HSPI_INSTEON_THERMOSTAT.exe.config

I'm wondering if during the last time you updated it, perhaps windows couldn't delete the older one and now you have more than one .exe in there?

This was the first time I had heard of this error. Google helped uncover some old posts in other plugins where this happened. All plugins use the HS3 install mechanism. I can only speculate that perhaps virus scanning software or something similar still had a handle open to the old version while the new one was installed. Glad you were able to find/fix it by removing the old version.

also cant be antivirus, I am using a homtroller Pro S6 from homeseer..
so there is no antivirus on it as far as I know.. I didn't install anything

but either way,... the error is gone.
