Plugin quits working

What would cause the RCS serial plugin to stop working?

When it does, I can go into the Interfaces screen and disable and then enable the plugin and it starts working. It varies how long before it stops working. I have connected the stat to a different comm port with no change. I am using the RCS RS485 to RS232 converter.

Any ideas?

One possibility is a hardware malfunction in the serial link. Either the RS485 converter or the cable. Or the USB to RS232 converter if you are using one.

I had a similar problem years ago with the ACRF plug-in. Jon added an auto reconnect feature that solved it for me and several others.

i ping mine on a weekly basis to keep it going
just set the fan to auto every thursday
