Help selecting new RS485 to 232 for RCS

My RCS 485 converter took a fatal hit in a recent power failure. Before using the $90 RCS unit I recall using a much cheaper 485/232 converter, of which I see many on Amazon. Wuold this work:

I recall that you have to also provide a power supply when using these. As it has been a long time since I did this if anyone can give me some pointers - that would be great. Thanks.

I use one that looks just like the one you linked to. I have no idea if they are equivalent or not, though. Mine has performed without issue for several years. I only connect the two data wires from my Tstats. No power connection to it is needed.

Good. My terminals are labeled A and B. Just 'cause I dug it up, here's something from their most recent online docs. You may already have found it.
