    The Open Windows device

    Hi,
    A VSTAT has this option:

Name:	stat3.jpg
Views:	83
Size:	11.8 KB
ID:	1416578

Where/How does one define the "Windows device"

    Thanks
    /Marcus

Do I need to set up an event triggered from another physical windows open/close sensor that changes the child device on the VSTAT?

      Hi Marcus,

Basically each VStat has a child device called 'Windows' which has two states 'Closed' and 'Open'.
If you set the device to 'Open' then the VStat will reduce the target temp, by the configured amount, until it is changed back to 'Closed'.

Where I use this feature, I set up events to set the Windows device of a VStat between Open and Closed depending on various window and door sensors I have around the house. You could use individual or multiple sensors for one VStat and configure your events accordingly.

For example I have a sensor on my front door and essentially turn the main central heating Off if the door is left open. However, I don't want it going on and off every time you open and close the door so I have it set to only turn Off if the door has been open for 1 minute. See example events below:

      I hope that helps,
