Backup Errors & Report Device Status

    Hi,

I have noticed ActiveBackup throwing up a lot of errors on some of my backup jobs - but it still reports that the backup was OK at the end.

I am a bit concerned that the backups concerned might NOT be OK...

    I'm using version 2.0.0.22

    See below for example:

    Hello,
how much large is the source folder? (Right click on it, then click properties)
Can you open the zipped backup with WinZip without errors?
    Thanks

The source folder is 10.5GB - the backup is split over 10 zip files and yes they do all open individually... not sure how to check their integrity as a "whole" entity though?

You can enable the DEBUG option.
        Then,please,post the entire log (zipped)!
        Thanks!

Pertinent extract of log attached... I don't know if it makes any difference but as I was checking through the log I noticed that two backup jobs overlapped... so when the errors occurred two backups were in progress simultaneously....

May be the overlapping, due to memory leak.
Try to execute one backup per time, and see wath appens.
I'm running on a 1.5 GB memory, and i run two overlapping backupsets without problems.
            ;-)

Yes I've been having issues with "you're running low on virtual memory, windows will automatically adjust blah blah...." - I only have 768MB of Memory. I will try to keep them separate, but sometimes one job takes longer than normal and then overlaps a later one...

              Cheers.

Right last night I made sure that only one job would run - my Homeseer folder backup... I still got the 'System.OutOfMemoryException' error.

                I'm using HS 2.1.52 and ActiveBackup 2.0.0.22.

                Here's the log:

                    Try this

                    Shutdown HS
Unzip the attached file to the HS folder
                    Restart HS.

                    Let me know!

                        Hi,

Thanks - seems to have done the trick - been running for several nights with no errors, even when I had two jobs running together!

Added some code to "force" the garbage collector to release allocated memory.
Reduced "span on multiple zips" size to 200MB, instead of 1GB
                            :-)
