    HS4 and New Virtual Devices

I created a new virtual device in HS4. I am trying to set the value of this virtual device to the value of another device. For that I created an event with an action "EasyTrigger: Set Device to another Device". However, when I try to select the device I can't find it. It shows up as a device in other HS actions just not with the EasyTrigger action.

Some more info, I have an existing device "Upstairs - Landing - Thermostat". The virtual device I created is called "Upstairs - Landing - Thermostat Setpoint for HSTouch". So the both start with the same. Interestingly, with EasyTrigger I see a device "Upstairs - Landing - Thermostat4" which I don't see with regular HS actions. So just for testing I set the action to that device but it doesn't do anything to my virtual device.

    My plugin version is 3.0.0.71

You can use the legacy event page or disable/enable the Easytrigger PI.

rjh Please log, this is very frustrating.

John245 Thanks, disabling and enabling the plugin fixed it. I can now see the virtual device I created in HS4. Interestingly, the "Upstairs - Landing - Thermostat4" device disappeared so now it all matches with HS (except the plugin doesn't have the device & features approach).

Logged as HS-803, either it will be fixed in HS4 so that it works like in HS3, or I will add a workaround in EasyTrigger.

            Any update on this?

It is frustrating to restart Eaytrigger every time a virtual device is added.

This is supposed to be fixed, but there can be a delay of up to 1 minute before EasyTrigger is notified of the creation of the device.
Can you confirm that after 1 minute you see the device in the list?

                Hi Chris,

I can confirm this. Good to know that I need to be more patient.

This "delay" also happens with JowiHue. I've seen significant delays when renaming devices for example. I just had a discussion with w.vuyk about this.

I guess patience really is a virtue, a virtual virtue.

I had the same issue posted at https://github.com/HomeSeer/Plugin-SDK/issues/23 last year October 16th (...)
Rich would see if it could be moved to a faster thread.up in his last post on this, less then one minute. Still hoping to see this update rjh It would be good to see it working as fast as HS3 did. I do not see how this can be caught different by any plugin as a device change is not reported in any other way then by HS itself.

Yes, I should have this change in version 4.1.10.0.

This is still an issue - sort of. The device shows up but in EasyTrigger you cannot set the device control of a virtual device to on or off until you reset the plugin.
