Benefits of Easy Triger vs. the events or other HS4 scheduling

Greetings, I am in my 1st month of operating HS. Have setup several event schedules and they are working fine with no issues. Saw the plugin and wanted to know are there real benefits for purchasing it as oppose to the what HS4 already has.

Easy Trigger makes creating events much easier to create especially if for example you are using multiple motion sensors. Instead of a lot of an/ifs you just put them in a group and call that group as on and off. There are many uses for it and it’s one of my favorite plugins. You can read the support info on the forums

Easy Trigger is essential for many parts of HS, for me especially for using TTS to Alexa via node-red. You can trial easy trigger (and all plugins I think) for 30 days for free before purchasing. That way you can take a look before spending any money.

Some events I have set up using EasyTrigger for my HomeSeer dimmers include:

All bottom LEDs to red if a first floor contact sensor is open
All second LEDs to magenta if a second floor contact sensor is open
All bottom LEDs to yellow if garage door is open
All top LEDs blue if HVAC is cooling, or red if HVAC is heating
All second from top LEDs to green if irrigation is running

I absolutely love the plugin, wish it was built in to HomeSeer!!

While you can accomplish everything that Easy Trigger does by using events and scripts Easy Trigger simplifies many tasks. My only complaint is that it hasn't been updated for HS4. The device selection doesn't fully support the Parent/child device naming common in HS4. The way around this is to ensure all your child devices have unique names to make finding them easier.

My Easy Trigger usaged includes a Device group with all my central scenes that lets me set up global actions for multi taps. I also use a Device group to turn all my interior lights on or off. One of the nice features is that Easy Trigger can be set to only send a command to a device in a group if it results in that device changing.

Check out the Easy Trigger user manual for an explanation of it's features.
