    Set device's string to special characters

    Spud;

    Is it possible to set a devices string to contain special characters? Specifically I would like to put the degree symbol in a string, but there are likely to be others. When I put the degree symbol in, it changes to a question mark. Is HTML possible? I tried it with tags, no luck.

              And after I wrote the long answer above, I realized I was going about this all wrong. I had totally forgotten about using different control and status for each value, which allows me to display one thing while using another for control.

              I'm sure I will want to put special characters in a string on a virtual device at some point.
