Is it possible to speak a DeviceString?

    Without using scripting. Only events.

I don't seem to find any Replacement Variables that covers DeviceString. Wondering if there is a method I'm not thinking of. I tried [$SCRIPT=&hs.devicestring(XXX)] like in HS Touch but no go.

    Thanks

Events and scripts are not mutually exclusive. Easily done using an immediate script command in an event or calling a small script from the event.
    HS 3.0.0.548: 1990 Devices 1172 Events
    Z-Wave 3.0.1.262: 126 Nodes on one Z-Net

Agreed. But what I'm trying to achieve is have different phrases using a DeviceString that will not always be position at the same place in the phrase structure in order to keep it more natural. Ex.:

      - What-out! [DeviceString] are now in their final approach.
      - [DeviceString] are just around the corner.
      - In less than a minutes you'll have the pleasure to be reunited with [DeviceString]

I was trying to avoid sticking to always : Attention expression + [DeviceString] + phrase detail.

Using some Replacement Variable would fit that need perfectly.
