    help

Trying to put my new phone into tasker plugin. The autoremote url I get is https://autoremote.joaoapps....... When I use this I just get an error saying the url is mispelled. How do I fix.
Also, I tried to install the beta but just get a message saying install failed. How do I fix?

      Eman.
Plugin I have shows goo.gl as start of the url. If I put in the key portion or if I change the beginning to the autoremote.joaoapps.. like it shows in the autoremote app I get the misspelling error. I don't see any drop down menu to choose the autoremote.joaoapps.... Maybe this is only in the Beta version. I've tried several times to install it via updater, but it always fails.

Can you post here screen shots of what you are trying to do? You may be missing out something .

Note : This video is comprehensive but can help to get to know how AutoRemote works : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pXuo4JWTLQ (Pus you can also look here :https://joaoapps.com/autoremote/personal/ ) and I don't know if you've already seen this : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q4lnYZgYqFbfmesDabMhTZCRd8FfKQg92tRo96vbdGc/edit (may be old but still applies)

Now if everything fails then it could be the version of Android you have (but don't hold me on that yet!) And all is not lost yet!. You can still do magic with other apps (hold that for now but just ask! How?)

Click image for larger version Name:	autoremote.png Views:	8 Size:	128.0 KB ID:	1364641 Attached is screenshot. Plugin asks for goo.gf key. The key Is have is an autoremote.joaoapps.com key. If I put the key part after the goo.gl/ in the plugin in I get a mistyped url error. If I replace the whole url with the autoremote.joaoapps... and key I get the same error. Can't figure out what key you are looking for.

              Hello jrjmpls7 ,

I can't see your image is too small. But if I understand what you are on about, open up AutoRemote on your Android device and the number you see is your code (don't add the URL) because that is auto filled in where you choose in Tasker Plugin settings (yours should be "autoremote.joaoapps.com/) not the "goo.gl/" then in the box below insert the number (characters) you see at the last part / xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (at the top of the QR code) then click save.

Note : The name of you device in Tasker is what you named it in AutoRemote.

If everything goes well, go through all your AutoRemote and Tasker apps and setup backups so you never have to stress again if change devices.

Am sorry I wasn't able to see anything in your image (Tip : when you edit an image in Paint or other resize/scale it down to reduce the file size then when you attach it to the forum choose large)

the plugin is requesting a goo.gl key. Those are the terms you can't see in the upload I sent. I don't have a goo.gl key. The only key I have is the autoremote... key that you are talking about above;. Again-in the setup menu for the plugin, the terms that are already in the key box are the goo.gl terms. If I change them to the autoremote... terms and then put in the key I get an error. If I just put in the key and leave the goo.gl I also get an error.

There were changes some time ago : https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/ul...87#post1300587

First go to the beta section and download the plugin from there and once installed click on the down allow in the plugin settings. There should be three options to choose from.

Once you input your number everything will come up ( Those are new types settings!) Plugin version 3.0.4.9

Tip : I found a fault in the plugin == > Go to the URL settings in the Tasker Plugin and click on the goo.gl/ then click back on the autoremote.joaoapps.com/ (It's sticky!)

I wrote exactly that in my previous post #9

Remove the previous plugin first and hunting in the HS3 root folder for any file Tasker Plugin and delete them before trying to install the beta.

                      Anything found here after Unistall

HSPI_TASKER.exe.config may remain behind after uninstall, The whole Tasker folder in \HomeSeer HS3\Bin, tl-tasker the whole folder in \HomeSeer HS3\Config, Tasker foler in \HomeSeer HS3\Data and some files may be in the html folder

Tip : You may also have to install .NET Framework 4.5 : https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/ul...er#post1300766

OK I got the beta installed and the phone installed in the plugin with the autoremote key. Now working on the phone. Trying to import the Tasker/HS3 files. When I try to import, I get an error saying there are already files by that name. I suppose that comes from my import of the tasker backup from my previous phone. But the tasker/hs3 tabs are empty. How can I get rid of the old files so I can get tasker set up>?
                        Thanx

If you previously automatically backed up your old Tasker via Google cloud or even sd card, that would be a bonus. Just go to Tasker settings (preferences) first setup auto backup to Google. Once done come out and click Data then Restore and choose your previous phone's backed up file. (That will save you all the headache)

Should you not have done auto backups then you have to install FX File Explorer (Lovely app! The paid version will let you do it from your desktop. More about it here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD3casjizvo and here https://www.xda-developers.com/fx-file-explorer-6-0/) To locate the files look at this document first : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...Ro96vbdGc/edit

Tip : Remember to turn off WEB view when you finish using it.

                          Else, enjoy!

I have deleted everything I could find using your file explorer program that seems to be related to tasker and HS3. But when I try to import I still get a message saying there is already a project with that name. I see no way to delete a project in tasker. I found nothing about file locations in the document you referenced above. Still need help to get running.

TIP : Before you delete, touch and hold the Tasker Home but in the bottom left corner image below and choose import Tasker Projects. That will take you straight to where the four file are located. When finished importing the files go to Tasker's settings/data the Restore to get your settings back.

                              Else,

The easiest way to clear everything from the phone image below :

Or even uninstall the Tasker app from the phone then also uninstall the HS3 helper app as well.

Click image for larger version Name:	Tasker-1-300x617.jpg Views:	0 Size:	35.9 KB ID:	1365875

Then remove the four files mentioned in this document : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...Ro96vbdGc/edit
You may also remove the Tasker folder if left behind after uninstall.

Note : This process is on the phone side of things. I mentioned about the PC side in post #11
