Ok I have created and loaded my floor plans, when I hit load I get an error saying that no decives were found. Do I have to enter these in somewhere or shoud the script find them?

    Kirk,
Are you running UltraView? If so try running the file ultra_view2_config.htm by double clicking on it. This will launch it from the directory instead of via the web server.

      Still no devices

Ok I tried running it directly from my hs computer and not remote desktop and When I load in my images both in the .bmp format, then I click load. I get an box pop up that says the active X may be unsafe to interact with other pages. Would you like to allow this. If I say yes, I get the no devices found. If I say no I get another box that says HS not found, make sure you run this from the same PC that HS is found on.

I am running from the same machine, in the HTML directory right from windows explorer.

        Does port matter

My server is not running on port 80, I have it set on a different port, does this matter. I have tried everything for the s server itself and it still cannot locate hs.

Check your XML output by pointing your browser to:
          http://homeseer:80/ultra_view2_xml.vbs
(Where 'homeseer' is the URL to your HomeSeer web and '80' is the port)

          Does it load without errors?

            Script Error:
500:Variable is undefined: 'GetLocation' in line 202

What script or file is this looking for?

                I am confused

Or maby I am not saying what I mean. I am not just trying to get the ultraview status working. I am trying to get everything working. I have created my floor plans, entered them into the cfg screen and then I try to load my devices to place them on my floor plans and I get the no devices found. How do I get Ultra view to see my devices so I can add them to my floor plan?

                  Ok now what

I created the blank script that that link you showed my tells me two, saved it in my scripts folder and then ran the ultra_view2_xml.vbs again and this time I get what looks like the script for an asp with all of my devices in it. If I try to run the config I get the same error I posted earlyier about no devices found.

Try this newer config tool. It has more error handling.

                      Ok what gives

Ok I am really getting frustrated. I have checked and rechecked my instructions and I still get the same error. I ran the new configur tool you sent and I get the same error. I load my gifs for the basement and firstfloor. called basement.gif and firstfloor.gif then I press load. I get a diologe box that says the active x may be hrmfull to interact with other pages. would I like to allow this. I click yes I get about a 10 sec pause then a VB error box that says no HS devices found. if I hit no on the active x box then I get an error saying that HS can't be found be sure to run this on the same computer as HS (I am).

I have changed the size of my gifs as instructed and the location and names of my floor plans as told. Other then that I have made no changes or additions to the scripts. Do I need to tell the script where my devices are, or do I have to enter something somewhere? I must be missing something. I don't understand why the script cannot find my devices. If I enter the blank get function in my script folder and then run it all of my devices are populated in that.

Let's start this over. We can get this working...

Point your web browser to http://your.homeseer.server:81/ultra_view2_xml.vbs.

Verify the XML document loads completly (scroll down to the bottom and verify you see the ending "</ DEVICEDATA>" element).

Now, lets turn on debug in the config tool...
Open up the config tool using notepad, and search for "Const bDebug = False" and change it to "Const bDebug = True", then save. Re-launch the tool by double-clicking the file, then let me know what the dialog boxes say after pressing the load button.

                        Regards,
                        Ultrajones

Something funny in my ultraview town.

Ok I have included my vbs file it has some junk on the bottom.

Next I changed debug to true and ran the configuration again. This time after the axtive x control diologe came up I said yes then It said it found 240 devices and will convert them to xml. Then is said it converted 240 devices. Then the VB error poped again with no devices found. The count says 0 the load says false and I have no devices.

I deleted the XML and reinstalled it, Then I checked the bottom of the file and said there was an invalid charactor "&" I checked my devices and changed that and it loaded all of my devices.

So I figure once I enter all of my devices and hit create configuration that I should be able to load the ultra_view2.asp and it should display everything?
