  • UltraStatus/UltraView2 configuration save issue

    I have been working with the fellows at HS Support for a couple of weeks now on an issue I keep getting. All is now resolved, except for a problem with my UltraStatus (UltraView2) graphical layout of my home. I have gone through a complete re-entry of all my devices, events, etc into a brand new database. I was unable to get all my devices re-entered unless I disabled UltraMon/UltraStatus plug-ins. The database kept corrupting and reverting to a previous version. Once those plugin were disabled, was able to get all 155 of my devices re-entered. I have a conglomeration of X10 and ZWave devices, but ZWave (HomeTroller) is new to me, as well as a recent upgrade from HS2 to HSPro (in order to get the HSTouch component, primarily).

    However, the remaining problem is when I attempt to rebuild my UltraView2 interface, which for years has been my primary interface. I go in and start positioning my devices on my Home Layout graphics. I hit 'Generate Configuration' after every single device placement. It was able to save the configuration of all device placements fine, up until about 60 devices into my 155 devices, & then it errors out trying to save new changes. It is intermittent, and fails on different devices each time (first rebuild got me 11 devices in; second got me 77 devices in; third got me 51 devices in). I have rebuilt my entire database four times now. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled all HS products completely, in attempt to resolve. However, I get the same results.

    The error is always something along these lines:

    Source:
    Web Server
    Description:
    Got data but was not PUT or GET, from: 192.168.1.1 Data: =-100:-100:-2:0&deva1296=710:102:0:0&deva2010=907:309:0:0&deva4886=517:4 36:0:0&deva7262=593:472:1:0&deva6991=-100:-100:-2:0&deva1709=-100:-100:-2:0&deva2689=-100:-100:-2:0&deva116=798:468:1:0&deva3005=890:431:1:0&deva8950=-100:-100:-2:0&deva7558=-100:-100:-2:0&deva7947=-100:-100:-2:0&deva7950=-100:-100:-2:0&deva1357=-100:-100:-2:0&deva9262=-100:-100:-2:0&deva275=116:80:1:0&deva85=-100:-100:-2:0&deva1560=-100:-100:-2:0&deva3671=-100:-100:-2:0&deva5186=-100:-100:-2:0&deva4347=-100:-100:-2:0&deva5315=-100:-100:-2:0&deva5514=-100:-100:-2:0&deva3739=-100:-100:-2:0&deva5815=-100:-100:-2:0&deva5976=94:80:1:0&deva4595=-100:-100:-2:0&deva6298=-100:-100:-2:0&deva2595=-100:-100:-2:0&deva6054=69:80:1:0&deva3467=-100:-100:-2:0&deva3314=48:80:1:0&deva7990=186:434:1:0&deva6359=349:459 :1:0&deva8227=338:441:1:0&deva7722=338:484:1:0&deva474=338:4 32:1:0&deva8429=662:425:1:0&deva5306=664:459:1:0&deva4876=33 9:460:1:0&deva1008=660:442:1:0&deva6035=-100:-100:-2:0&deva5992=-100:-100:-2:0&deva2083=-100:-100:-2:0 HTTP/1.1

    This really sucks. I would love to get all my remaining devices entered into the graphical layouts of my home, since that is the primary interface I have always used.

    Thanks in advance, for the help on this issue.

    Thank you for reporting this issue. The configuration would fail when you attempt to save a large number of devices. I modified the config to properly use POST. I just uploaded UltraStatus HSPI version 1.1.4590.31091 to the HomeSeer updater.

    To test, you can simply place one device on your floor plan, then hit genreate config, then click UltraView2 to confirm it works.

      Well, the good news is that the previous 'Can't Get or Put' error message is now gone. The bad news is that version 1.1.4590.31091 took out ALL my UltraView2 icons completely, on all three floors. If I attempt to put them back, it says it wrote to the configuration file fine. However, nothing shows up on the web page. Yes, I changed them from 'hidden' to 'first' floor, as appropriate. It still acts like they are hidden. When loading my config, every single device shows as hidden now.

        I just noticed that the 'Getting Data' blue box when pulling up the UltraView2 interface is only a slight flicker now, & then it is gone. It used to run for several seconds as it pulled in data. Nothing is pulling in though, now.

          Does everything show "Pass" under XML tests?

            yes. all xml test show pass. man, i really need to get this working. it is like the xml file is resetting to blank every time. it cant remember the page views, locations, or anything. everything is defaulting to hidden, with the icons off the picture (above and to the left), in the default location. I get absolutely no error in the log when saving the configuration, & it says it was successful. The ULTRAVIEW2.XML file modified date and time changes to the time of the save, but opening that Xml file in notepad and it is completely blank, like this:

            <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" standalone="yes"?>
            <devices>
            </devices>

              i don't know if you an see the contents of the ULTRAVIEW2.XML file that I pasted into the previous post. it shows up as hidden, for some reason, in my browser. I removed the brackets from around every line, so it wouldn't disappear and you could see it. It looks like below (minus those outer brackets).

              ?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" standalone="yes"?
              devices
              /devices

                If necessary, I could give you temporary access into my system via web interface logon, or even RDP access directly to the machine. We'd have to communicate offline, for getting you appropriate logon account settings. You could probably fix it pretty quick that way. Likewise, I am more than willing to pay for support, if necessary. I just need it fixed.

                    Downloaded the new update. Same results. It isn't posting any changes to the Configuration file.

                      Is the timestamp of the config file changing?

                        Just checked it. Yes it is. But it still looks like what I pasted a few comments ago, with basically an empty configuration with only three lines.

                        How do I do a full equivalent to an uninstall of UltraStatus? Do you think it would make any difference to completely remove it, & start over from scratch? Basically, I am doing that already anyway, since it doesn't have any of my device placements any more anyway.

                          No, that is not going to help. Let me look at this a bit more.

                            Can you clear your browsers cache to make sure you're using the updated javascript files? If that doens't work, please contact me at ultrajones@hotmail.com.

                              Cleared the cache, & it made no difference.
