Yes please. We use our Echo a lot, and integration would be great.

It isn't a plugin for echo. It is a plugin for the Alexa Voice Service, which basically allows you to use Alexa with any microphone and speakers.

First beta version will be released early next week.

No, this plugin is windows only.
However since the API is public, I guess some independent iOS app are going to be built for this service.

yes you can choose to use the Kinect as the microphone for the Alexa plug-in.
and both Kinect and Alexa plug-ins can be run at the same time.

the first beta version is now available here: http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=176989

Before I go and promote my own work, I wanted to give Spud a virtual high five for creating this plug in. This is awesome.

There is an official HomeSeer integration with the Echo that has been submitted for approval, but it is stuck in Amazon's glacially paced approval process. It can be installed as a beta. The only official mention of it as far as I know is some posts in the long Amazon Echo thread on the forum.

There is however an unofficial script plug in you can use. While it's a minor chore to install it works really well and can be customized pretty easily. That's not just my opinion as the author. My (admittedly small) base of users seems to love it. If you want to control your HomeSeer with the Echo or Spud's wonderful Alexa Voice Service plug-in, check out my script plug in. And if you do, send me some feedback so I can make it better.
