  • Can't get BLControl to connect

    I just downloaded BLConnect 2.0.14.0 from the updater.
    Installed, Enabled it and restarted HS3

    Then installed BLConnect on my Android Samsung Gallaxy S5 (Android 5.0)
    When I started the app it asked for The server url and port.
    I only want to test internally on WIFI so I entered the internal url
    http:/nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:81 and port number 2559 and my SSID.
    The message would not go away until I also entered an external url.
    I entered a bogus one.
    I assume the app is smart enough to use WIFI if available.

    My problem:
    I get a popup on the android device That says "BLControl is initializing with the server...please wait."
    It won't connect! and I can not dismiss this popup.
    The icon in the upper left is grayed out. If I close the app and restart I just get the popup again.
    I am not sure how long this initialization should take.
    My only clue that it is trying is the WIFI icon on the android status bar at the top.
    I saw an old post that seem to indicate that the icon at the left top will get you back to the configuration
    page but does not work for me.
    Not sure if this has to do with android 5.0. Based on the date of this old post it must have been an older version of android.

    How do I get it to connect!!
    And how do I get back to the config page on the Android app?
    Debug log is attached.

    Thanks
    Tom

    Did you open the port on your windows machine? Is something blocking the connection

      During the installation it prompted me to allow traffic through the firewall.
      I clicked allow. I also tried turning the firewall off the see if it was blocking
      communication. Still no Joy!!

        The log shows no connection but also no errors
        The app is not connecting to the plugin.

        Attach your hspi_BLControl.ini file zipped

          Bob,
          Things have gotten much worse!!!
          More problems with BLGData.
          The only thing I changed was to install BLControl.
          I don't know if BLControl can affect BLGData.
          When I try to access BLGData I get an error.
          "Error finding plugin in GenPage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
          On the Plug-ins Management page I have BJControl disabled until I get this straightened out.
          In the Plug-in Status column for BLGData I get an error.
          "CRITICAL: Failed to get Interface from BLGData: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

          In the Homeseer I get the same error every few seconds and a warning
          "Plugin BLGData is not responding but still running, not restarted yet."

          Even HSTouch is not working correctly. It controls devices ok but the sliders and device graphics do not get updated.

          Also if I disable BLGData instead of the red disabled icon in the Enable column it says "Loaded Remotely" The errors in the HS log continue.

          Seems like this all started after I installed BLControl but I am not sure.

          Things are really goofed up. Please HELP!
          Maybe the best thing is to uninstall BLControl until I can get things working again but I would need your help doing this.

          Thanks
          Tom

            Bob,
            I just rebooted the HS PC. I have BLGData and BLControl disabled.
            On the Installed Plug-ins page I now get the red disabled icons. The error
            mesages in the hs log have stopped. HSTouch seems to be working fine now.
            Not sure what caused all the problems but better now.

            Next I will enable BLGData and see if I cah get back to when this was working.
            The on to BLControl.

            Thanks
            Tom

              When I enable BLGData I get an auth page from Google.
              I accept and it redirects to localhost:50355/authorize/?code=4/lnp-FHfMIjINBDj-cHb_hiPmORaN_J_JjCOm4HaApfU#

              The page says Received verification code. Closing...

              On the maintain user page when I click on Calendars I also get an auth page from Google that says
              BLGData-xxxxxxxxxxx would like to Manage your calendar. When I accept it redirects to the same page as above with a different code.

              I am totally confused on what to do next.

              Thanks
              Tom

                It should popup a window on your HS3 machine for you to enter in that code.
                I am at work today but I will check the forum when I can
                Cheers,

                  No popup.
                  The code only appears on the query string of the URL.
                  I am using chrome and turned off the popup stopper.
                  Javascript is enabled

                  I tried with IE11, Still no popup

                  Here is the code for the page that I think should open the popup

                  Code:
                  <html>
                    <head><title>OAuth 2.0 Authentication Token Received</title></head>
                    <body>
                      Received verification code. Closing...
                      <script type='text/javascript'>
                        window.setTimeout(function() {
                            window.open('', '_self', '');
                            window.close();
                          }, 1000);
                        if (window.opener) { window.opener.checkToken(); }
                      </script>
                    </body>
                  </html>
                  I am not sure but it looks like the url for the popup in the window.open command is blank??

                  Thanks
                  Tom

                      I installed 2.0.23
                      When I enable the plugin I get the auth page from Google 2 times.
                      When I accept the page now it says "Received verification code. You may now close this window."
                      so I close the tab. Then I go to the user page to view my
                      calendars I get the auth page every time I click on the calendars link.

                      Am I suposed to get a popup with this version? I do not.

                      Seem like the auth code is not getting saved or the code is no good.

                      Thanks
                      Tom

                        That is odd. I do not see the auth popup at all. My calendars just show up
                        Cheers,

                          I got it working again! Yah!
                          I went to the Edit User page - same account I had when it was working.
                          I found that the Google API Secret Key was blank. I don't know why.
                          But I put it back in and the plugin started to work again.

                          Tomorrow back to BLControl to see if I can get it and the android app to work.

                          Thanks again for all of your help!!!

                            No problem.

                            The BLControl issue must be on your end as it is working here and no one else if reporting it
                            Cheers,
