    Router / Firewall Ports

Which ports are required to be open and forwarded onto a HS server?

Attempting to use direct connection so I can use multiple users, the error reports a different FROM port every time!
    438XX

Do I need to open 100 ports?

I used to use port forwarding similar to what is mentioned in the thread below. On tp-link routers you have to go to advanced settings, NAT forwarding, Virtual Servers. Having said that, for security reasons I stopped using port forwarding and instead I am using VPN. And while you are at that, make sure UPnP is turned off. All those security cameras and other devices open ports left and right making you prone to attacks. My cameras constantly "lost" their passwords until I figured out they were actually hacked. Now I have no such problems anymore.

For HSBuddy direct connection, you should just need to open your HomeSeer http(s) port, and the HomeSeer ascii port (default is 11000)

        All working now.
        Head meets wall scenario :-(

My HS Server had changed IP address so wasn't the one that the Router Ports were being opened for.
It wasn't obvious, as the Router was showing the Server Name, so I assumed it was correct :-(

I attempted to delete the rules and start from scratch then i realized what the issue was.
