HSbuddy keeps on triggering me in and out of Geofence when I'm home

My radius is 0.1 and margin is 0.25 miles and my app is set to high accuracy. I have events that triggers based on when I get home and a few times a day it gets triggered and was able to trace it back to HSBuddy.

I *think* high accuracy is only GPS. You might try medium. If your GPS signal is attenuated indoors, you might see your phones location drift. With your radius at only about 500 feet a little drift can cause it to trigger in and out if the fence. I have my margin and radius at .25 and accuracy set to medium and have not has a false report since implementing HSBuddy geofences

let me try that and see what happens. I live very close to the main road and sometime I would drive right through the radius line if I set it too wide which end up trigger unwanted events like opening my gate.

While we're at it, anyone explain to me raidus vs margin?

Radius is used as the Entry to a geofence, Margin is used as the Exit. The margin is intended to avoid jumping in and out of the geofence due to drift, changing towers, etc. I use a virtual switch for location- when I enter the geofence, my virtual switch is set to Home. Events are triggered when the virtual switch changes and becomes Home (or a different virtual changes and becomes "House Occupied"). That also helps to avoid triggering events when they shouldn't.

The maps in settings show the relationships. The dark in the middle is the entry fence. The lighter color shows the exit fence when accounting for the margin. All of this will be affected by the accuracy of the phone’s location.

            thanks guys..

I have very similar issues like that map of yours. at 0.25 my radius line crosses the highway. What I really wanted is to only trigger when I'm within my neighborhood.

Using the circle as reference, ideally, my radius can be a maximum of 0.15. the margin can be 0.25 which should be fine for me. Do you see this to be a problem?

It should be OK to set a small value to radius, as long as you see that HSBuddy consistently detects you crossing into the smaller circle (e.g. coming home)

But you'll want to keep the value for radius+margin high. In my case I've set it to at least 0.5. E.g. if your fence radius is set to 0.1 then you may want a margin of 0.4. I've observed with these values I do not get any false detections of going out and back into the fence.
