I know that many of the Ambient Weather stations scan read "solor radiation". But base on their definition https://www.ambientweather.com/solar...ic%20spectrum. that doesn't seem to be the same as brightness. I wanted to use this to decide when I want to lower shades and awnings but I guess for that I would need brigthness (lux) and not solar radiation (watts).

Ambient gives you a lot of options:
Solar Radiation (W/m²)
Illuminance (lux)
UV Index
And if you search, there is also a Homeseer script for Solar Altitude and Solar Azimuth.
