  • Error in Event Log When PI Tries to Download Conditions

    Started happening recently. Whenever my PI (3.0.0.63) tries to download Conditions from Weather Underground I get the following error;

    Image file does not exist, returning blank image: C:\Program Files\HomeSeer HS3\html\0

    Any ideas what it's trying to do and how I can fix it?

    I enabled debug logging and here's what's causing it. Newest at top.

    4th line down - there's a / in that path that should be a \? Is that it?

    If so, that's a bug I'm guessing.

        I've added some more log entries to try to figure out exactly where the error is happening. Since the weatherXML plugin is not the one creating the error message I don't know the exact location where it is happening. The error logs you put in your post narrow it down but don't pinpoint it.

        When version .75 is released and you get this error, please grab the lines that you did plus one or two after the error.

            I updated to 3.0.0.76 and enabled debug logging. This is what leads to those errors - the file named right below the errors, nt_mostlycloudy_0.gif, is right there, where it should be.

              Can you confirm that this file exists?

              Keep in mind that on linux the directories are case sensitive.
              Make sure each of the directories in the above path and the image name match the case exactly.

                Yes indeed. File(s) are exactly in that path. If I copy and paste that path into Start/Run it opens the gif directly.

                  I finally managed to track this down. One HS Touch device was the cause - once I deleted that it went away.

                        Will do. So I presume that's not an error condition that requires attention?

                          Correct. It just means that in the course of importing the data it was checking for each type of device that can be created and it did not find some of them. It will still save the data, there just wasn't a device that needed to be set.
