Jeff, one minor issue it looks like one has to use URL to access the icons with the way WU has gone I'm leary of this too disappearing unless your a paying customer.. Mike

Jeff. I thought after I had posted that I was indirectly implying that the current WeatherXML Icons were some how bad, their not! But as you indicated there are folks out there that have access to some impressive icons that through sharing we could a mass a library of icons to satisfy one's desire/interests.

I agree with you. Most of the icons provided by companies are simple, lets just throw something out there so we can say we have icons. WU used to have several sets of icons to pick from. Some were cartoonish, but at least they had different styles to choose from. My goal is to get all of the images into the Status Graphics so everyone can setup what they want to use.

A few years ago I had thought about hiring someone to make some icons. The problem with icons is what looks awesome to some looks boring to others. Personally, I like icons that are 3D, gradient colors, and almost real looking. Samsung and Apple seem to like the flat, 1 color icons which I can't stand. I cringe every time I see my phone has an update ready because I know that my phone is about to get uglier with the icons that the phone makers are using now.

I found the Dark Site site is very useful and good looking. I have no doubt that the plugin will take a good advantage of all these features, as Jeff has always been very responsive to changes.
For those who updated to Dark Sky as provider, here are the condition icons gathered on darksky.net.
Unzip these files in /HS3/html/images/wheatherxml/conditions darksky_icons.zip
