  • Try 2 - Extra xml in NOAA Location URL

Ok, the first post seems to have not worked.

I'm using the NOAA location and when I enter the NOAA station ID, the log has the following error:

downloadFile: NOAA Weather Condition from: http://w1.weather.gov/xml/current_obs/KLNN.xml.xml. Error: System.Net.HttpWebResponse The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

In my settings page, I only have "KLNN" and not KLNN.xml

    Thank you,
    Thom K.

There is a way to grab the current beta release. If you go to the weatherXML admin page labeled Debug Log, click on button Create Updater File.
Then go to the Plugin Management page and click the button at the bottom of the page Labeled Update Listings.
Stop the weatherXML plugin, then open the Yellow arrow tabs at the bottom of the page until you find weatherXML.
Click the checkbox and install it. After it is done restart weatherXML and test the conditions schedule.

      Greetings,

Thank you for your quick response.

      I forgot to mention that I'm using HS3 on a Zee S2.

In any case, I followed your instructions. Nothing seemed to happen when I clicked the Create Updater File. But I went through the other steps without issue.

      Unfortunately, the error persists.

The Debug Log page still shows Type/Error 0 entries.

I think there is a problem with the url call http://w1.weather.gov/xml/current_obs/KLNN.xml.xml

If you try that URL you will get a 404 error message but http://w1.weather.gov/xml/current_obs/KLNN.xml works. That might be a clue for Jeff

The current beta version is 3.0.1.7.
When you clicked the Create Updater File and went to the Plugin Management page, was there only 3 possible items to select from.
The only things showing should have been weatherXML .7 and the plugins Restart and Random.

If you can get .7 installed, and are still getting the error, create the logoutput file and email it to me at jeff@myautomatedhome.net, please.

            Greetings Jeff,

Thanks again for sticking with me on this.

I've noticed a couple things. Is something supposed to happen when I click on Create Updater File? Nothing pops-up or indicates anything has happened.

I've also noticed that when I'm on the weatherXML setup pages, the clock no longer refreshes unless I click on a button.

When I select "Plugins" from within the weatherXML plugin, I get the attached image (2nd one).

Your initial instructions indicated going to Manage under the Plugin-Ins menu and Updating Listing I only see the following weatherXML under Weather (3rd attached picture).

Once again, I apologize if I'm not following an instruction properly.

            Thank you again!
            Thom K.

The Create Updater File creates a file in the HS directory called updater_override.txt. Instead of the weatherXML plugins page, after clicking the Create Updater File, go to the HS Plugin Management Page and click Update Listings. Click the Yellow arrow next to the words Additional Interfaces. You should see another yellow arrow with the words Local Update. This is where you select 3.0.1.7 to install it.

Got ya... Yeah... Ok... I found three files:

                /usr/local/HomeSeer/Docs/weatherXML/updater_Override.txt
                /usr/local/HomeSeer/updater.txt
                /usr/local/HomeSeer/updater_Override.txt

For both of the updater_Override.txt I have the following contents:
                HomeSeer Updates File, 3.0.0.0, 14, 2
                homeseer.com,anonymous,user@updates,updates3,,,0.0.0.0

                '%Updates
                %Local Update
                %<HS TYPE=SUBCAT>Utilities
                @http://www.myautomatedhome.net/HS3/random/random_updater.txt
                @http://www.myautomatedhome.net/HS3/restart/restart_updater.txt

                %<HS TYPE=SUBCAT>Weather
                @http://www.myautomatedhome.net/HS3/weatherxml/weatherxml_updater.txt

So, it looks like it creates the file, but my plug-in browser still won't show the 3.0.1.7

Is this because I'm using the Zee S2? I don't have the Local Update heading as you show above... Just the Additional Interfaces with the Weather sub heading.

                Thanks again!!

Rename the file to updater_override.txt. All lowercase. Then go back to the HS Plugin Management page.

                    That was it!

No more xml errors in my log.

However.... I don't think this critical but I'm now seeing the following error:

You are running on a Linux based system.
You have Access selected in the following locations:
                    • Location #0
On a Linux system you can not use Access as the database to save the weather data.
Please click on the Database menu button.
Select a location listed above in the Select Location dropdown.
                    Select SQLite as the databse.

I have two locations set up and both are currently set to SQLite.

I had a third location but I deleted it.

If that error can be fixed, great. If it's not doing any harm, I'm fine with leaving it.

                    Thank you again!

Look in the HomeSeer HS3/config/weatherxml directory for a file called weatherInfo.ini See if there is a section [weatherinfo0] When the location 0 was deleted it should have removed that section. You can also just look for databaseType in that section and delete just that key.

The StationID for NOAA Weather is missing.
StationID error also happening here after update to 3.0.11.13. Forecast info has not updated since 3.0.11.13 installed! Debug log sent via email.

StationID does show in location settings. At least I think that KGSO is the StationID??
