    Finally got it; had to clear browser image cache. Seems the plugin takes the icons from there but only for vertical/horizontal forecasts.

    Hi Jeff, just wondering if you had a chance to review this, still no luck getting the vertical/horizontal icons updated...
    Thx for your help

    Thanks Jeff, maybe I'm slow today but I can't seem to figure out how the above can help me solve the issue originally identified which is:

    You can notice below that the update is done at the same time for all devices;
    regular forecasts use the correct icons (from "condition" folder)
    but for some reason, horizontal/vertical forecast uses an old set of test PNG I deleted a while back which seem to be stored permanently somewhere; but I can't figure out where and/or how to delete/reset these icons. (see device 1903 below)

    Legacy works well but I use HStouch so the standard horiz/vert devices would be useful.

    How can I force these 2 devices (Horizontal forecast / Vertical forecast) to reset the icons and pull them from the condition folder?

    Thanks!

    There is two ways to do the Vertical/ Horizontal. On the tab Legacy Devices, if you set it to use the on that page, it creates them using HTML. While that will look good in a web page, it doesn't really work with HSTouch.
    If you are wanting to use them with HSTouch, go to the Devices tab. That is where you will setup the Horizontal/Vertical devices. It will build the HTML but then convert it to an image which works great in HSTouch. As for the names, you do have to match what is in your Forecast devices. The plugin is designed so that once an image has been downloaded, it won't download it again. So if you have nicer images, you can give them the names of what is being set in the forecast. Even if you take a png and rename it with a jpg, the convert to image will still include the forecast image into the new image. It saves the image in a device. You will want to use the device in HSTouch, not the name of the combined image. The reason for this is that the only way to force an immediate update in HSTouch is to change the device value. So each time the forecast image gets created, I update the device value between 99 and 100. That triggers HSTouch to refresh the image.
    Hope that makes sense.

    I should have some more time Monday and will check this thread again.

    There are name devices that weatherXML is using. My devices are below.

    I am wondering if you have to overwrite the files with the same name as uses / expects. The Icon names do not have any status graphics when you look inside which means he is probably setting them in the plugin.

    Just adding this screenshot for reference;
    you can notice that the update is done at the same time and regular forecasts use the correct icons (from "condition" folder)
    but for some reason, horizontal/vertical forecast still uses some test PNG I used originally which seem to be stored somewhere else and not updated.

    yes and I guess a manual "run now" should do it...
    CFGUY has posted a sticky mentioning he wouldn't be around for a while since his mother has health issues.
    Hopefully he'll eventually see this post and respond.
    Thx,

    Have you set the schedules for update? Might be worthwhile to send a PM to CFGUY as he is incredibly responsive.

    I completely deinstalled the plugin and resinstalled from the plugin manager, so the icons must be stored elsewhere... just need to force a refresh which doesn't seem to happen automatically.... Seems like the first time I put valid icons they were uploaded somewhere and won't re-update if changed...

    Edit: The Legacy vertical/horizontal works but still no luck with the standard vertical/horizontal.... still displays icons I deleted a few days back, they don't even exist on the server anymore so must be stored/embedded in some file

    I think it is in the plugin.

    Did further testing, manually deinstalled everything and all of a sudden some old icons came back in vertical/horizontal, so they must be stored somewhere and I need to reset or delete everything. Any clue where the code resides?

    from CFGuy's post

    "instead of using HTML in the device string which kept them from being used in HSTouch, I used the code to create an actual image"

    Did any of the filenames change - even slightly? This could break his code that concatenates the images. The post also says that he went back to html.

    File is the same in the \HomeSeer HS3\html\images\weatherXML\condition directory
    both vertical/horizontal are processed without icons.
    Any way to reset this feature? used to work before I changed the icons.

    everything else works perfectly:

    Sorry - mistook for homeseer log.

    If you go look at the file in the directory, does it display correctly? If not do you have the days you wish to download sent in the legacy section of WXML?

    yes see above.
    I've tried changing to jpg. all forecasts icons gone. Must need png.
    saved again under png with different software. all forecasts icons back on, except vertical/horizontal.
