  • Tides Information

I'm not having any luck getting tide information to show up. I can't find the device for it, for example.... nor do I see any specific way to ask for it other than API and lat/lon.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

You will want to setup a second location.
    Enter your Weather Underground API.
Enter the Lat and Long for the location where you want to get the tide info.
You can use this map to get the lat and long: http://www.worldweatheronline.com/map-search.aspx

Under the forecast Setup, select Yes for the Use Tide Info instead of normal forecast.
Restart the plugin so the menu button will get added. It will be in the user pages between Maps and Alerts.
The data will be updated during the Forecast schedule.

Tide information was added by a request and I never got any feedback after it was added so it displays the info and that is it. No devices are created or event triggers or actions. I'm open to adding them just haven't had any requests to do so.

I think I followed your instructions, previously.... tried again and the menu button doesn't seem to appear. Do you see anything I obviously fouled up?

      PS
This seems to be an awesome addition to anyone near the coast!

OK! Latest build works like a charm! Thanks!

It would be really neat to have some devices and events associated so that I could display them on my "current weather" screen.

High/Low tide will be at [time]; maybe the ability to speak the same; or maybe in a graph?

IMHO, anybody active in any tidal activity NEEDS this app....

            PS
I am graph/map challenged. I'll start another thread for that.....

I will work with you to get some devices added. As for speaking, we can figure out which data would be good to add to the speak items.

                  Ideas for initial change

                  Add devices for tide info.
On the HSTouch page if a location is set to Tides then the setup for forecast devices will also display setup for tide devices.

                  The following will be available.
                  Day Today thru Day 4
Sunrise, Sunset, Moonset, Moonrise, Low Tide 1, High Tide 1, Low Tide 2, High Tide 2.

Setup will be like the other devices where you click a checkbox to select the devices you want to use.

Image creation and speak items will come later.

I've started working on this. Adding the device selection and was wondering. Do you want separate devices for the tide information?
There is tide feet and tide time. I can make them separate or put the data in one device.

                      Ex. Time: feet

So far I have the options for devices for the following repeated for 5 days.
                      Sunrise
                      Sunset
                      Moonset
                      Moonrise
                      High Tide AM
                      Low Tide AM
                      High Tide PM
                      Low Tide PM

I can split the High and Low Tides and have
                      High Tide AM Time
                      High Tide AM Feet
                      Low Tide AM Time
                      Low Tide AM Feet
                      High Tide PM Time
                      High Tide PM Feet
                      Low Tide PM Time
